TTC & your families input
UGGGG DH & I found out we were PG 3/4 after trying without telling our families. Everyone seemed to be happy for us. We m/c and moved to FL from NY. DH & I are going through the motions of moving, miscarrying, starting new jobs, living with my mom and much much more. If I even mention TTC to my mom or BFF they act like "oh god, not a good idea". While I appreciate thier input, its my life...I'm 31 yrs old and this is our decision. I know now there is no "good time" to have a baby, so what the heck does everyone want us to wait for. Thanks for listening to me vent

I think it's best to try and filter those negative responses out. Only you and DH know what is truly right for the both of you. I am sorry you had to go through that loss and have less than supportive family members as you try to move on
Best of luck to you!

Re: TTC & your families input
I hear you! We have not told our families we are TTC, but if a baby is even mentioned around FIL he's like "No way! Enjoy marriage, get a house, bla bla" I understand that thats his opinion but to say it all the time is just aggrivating. He also forgets he had 3 kids with one on the way when he was our age.
Try not to let their comments get to you

Re: TTC & your families input
If I was to tell my family we were TTC, they would have plenty to say about it. My family has a lot going on right now and I KNOW they would think its the wrong time.
Even though I can completely understand why they would feel that way, something about TTC now feels extremely RIGHT to me. I am a little nervous about the stress of everything preventing me from getting pregnant, but I still want to try.
So I just choose not to say anything to them

Re: TTC & your families input
i understand (mostly) where you are coming from... we didn't tell my family we were TTC #1 but they were happy for us because Ds is the first grandchild on both sides.
we are looking for a jogging stroller now, and i mentioned in passing to my mom that it might be smarter to just get a double so we don't waste $$ and she basically told me that she didn't think we should TTC #2 until DS was much older - like in kindergarten
so once again, TTC is a secret from everyone in my family - but my friends all know

Re: TTC & your families input
Family and friends can suck sometimes . When I got pregnant with ds people were like wow that was fast you just got married. But we had lived together for 5 years. I had been off the pill for almost 2 years and on meds (to make me O) for 6 months. So I just ignored any non supportive comments. Then with #2 people kept telling us to wait until ds is older. Well, we did what was right for our family and dc#2 is due in September. As long as you have your health figured out everything else will fall into place. So try when it is right for you and dh. No one else needs to know what goes on in your bedroom

Re: TTC & your families input
we haven't told our families that I came off BC. I'm not actively trying but even when we do we won't say anything. Too many opinions. they'll find out when I get pregnant and decide to announce it.
