Trying to get preggers
Quick question if anyone has time to answer....looking to start trying to have children. I'm going to the OBGYN on 11/1.
Should I wait to speak with her first or is there anything I need to do to prep to start?

the only thing i would recommend is to start taking prenatal vitamins... you dont have to wait for your doc to do that...

my dr told me when we were ready to start trying just stop my birth control pill and start taking prenatal vitamins instead. No reason to go in until you are or for your regular appts!

You can start taking prenatal vitamins like the other girls said. When I talked to my doctor about it she said to start taking the vitamins and gave me a prescription to get blood work done. That is all she said I needed to do.

Thank you ladies-
The reason why I'm going in to see the DR. is beacuse it's also my annual routine check-up.....but I'm assuming I have to wait for a scrit to get prenatal vitamins, right?

nope... most of us are using otc... my first doc appt isnt until Nov 3rd... so he might give me a scrip... but i like the ones im on now...

Hello! I didn't get a script...just OTC prenatals (the target brand). When I had my regular appointment with my OB, she said those were fine.

we went in for prenatal bloodwork and got a scrip for the prenatals

you can use OTC ones - my gyn suggested to start using them when ttc but i actually only started taking them today...i am using the nature made ones...

DH and I made an appointment before we started TTC #1. We both had bloodwork done and I was put on Rx folic acid.

My doctor didnt give me a script. He said a regular multi vitamin was sufficient when TTC but I did by an OTC prenatal anyway. My doctor told me to BD from CD 8 - 15, every day.
