Foreshasdowing, all I keep thinking.

That's the same thing I'm thinking of. I went to a really good documentation center today with my family and DH about the rise of National Socialism and the dangers and history, etc.

There were a few points at the beginning that made us say "Trump". That's all I can keep thinking about now. It's getting dangerous now. He needs to be stopped.

What did they say about the dangers of National Socialism? I am interested to hear.

Uh, what? Is this a serious question?

It was about what happened in Nazi Germany from the end of World War 1 until the denazification period after World War 2 and some things that are happening now. It's a reminder that this does not need to happen again.

So why do you think there is so much support for a candidate that is running on a socialistic platform?

WTAF are you on about?? I'm not even going to bother answering your question because it doesn't even make sense.

I'm talking about the first part in the documentation center and how it really made me think about some comparisons to Trump.

Things that stood out:
-uses repetition in speeches
-uses blanket statements with no explanation how to do it
-uses short phrases
-uses the anxiety and fear of people to build support

It's scary and then to see the rest of the documentation center and how that ended situation ended up.

Are you comparing National Socialism to Bernie Sander's platform? Do you really think there are parallels? I think there are many reasons his platform is resonating and it's not because he's borrowing ideas from Nazi Germany.

I think someone doesn't know the difference between nationalist socialism (Nazis) and democratic socialism. Just because both have the term socialism does not make them comparable.

Re: Trump rallies & protestors

I find it more than slightly problematic that not only do many Americans not understand, but certain people running for PRESIDENT don't understand what the right to free speech is.

Your right to free speech is guaranteed insofar as the GOVERNMENT can not legally stop you from speaking/sharing your opinion. It absolutely, 100% does NOT extend to civilians/other people speaking over you/louder than you. The protesters, any protesters, are NOT infringing on anyone's right to free speech. Ever.

And it's really f*cking scary that Trump doesn't understand that, and yet is running for President.

thank you for posting this. It summarizes exactly what bothers me about trump. Especially the blanket statements and no explanation.

"I'm going to hire the best people to do that", "don't worry about the plan, it's fabulous".
WTF kind of campaign is this.

And-he comes off so disingenous. Smarmy. I'll be honest, Cruz and to some extent, Hillary Clinton do too but they at least have real plans, views, goals other than just winning the election for their ego.

But he does. He has mad his campaign about blaming everyone for everything. He understands EXACTLY what he is doing.

Make it about free speech. His followers ARE eating this up! Its NOT about free speech. But he is pretending it is.

He has made his campaign about fear.

He blames Obama for the violence.

he blames Isis.

he blames Bernie.

So if he can spin it in ANY way to make it sound like "everyone" is to blame...

wait. To put it simply. He will lie and say ANYTHING to spin it back to "the democrats suck and it all their fault".

(I am NOT saying HRC and BS are perfect. They are not).

If this is true, and believe me I wouldn't put it past him, then I find it even MORE problematic that a presidential candidate is willfully promoting misunderstanding, misapplication, and misuse of constitutional law and rights.

And I still find it problematic that people can't seem to take 2 minutes to look up what the right to free speech and free assembly actually mean.

And therin lies the REAL issue.

Look on FB. How many people see something, agree and re-post? Nobody checks ANYTHING. But if its a post with a meme showing...pick something....that you say "hum, that's f'ed up" you share it.

(Not you, but Facebook land).

People share ANY flucking post giving away anything for free (remember how many people shared the Mark Zuckerberg 4.5million giveaway in December??)

They share anything that shows "proof" for or against what they believe.

NOBODY checks facts. Nobody goes to the source..

The problem right now is that if its on the internet its true.

Trump KNOWS he can say ANYTHING and his supporters will follow it. Its about Free speech, right? He is being shut down right? Well yeah. Since Trump says its about free speak, well, then it is.

Hint: The protesters have a right to their free speech of protesting. Don't see him talking about their right.

And also, if it WAS about free speech why are the people who are SILENTLY protesting getting beaten and thrown out of his rallies? (ie: having a shirt that says "Hillary" or whatever they say). If you are quietly protesting and get thrown out isn't YOUR right to free speech being infringed?

And to be CLEAR: I do not condone violence.

I won't lie, his ideas SOUND amazing. Where is all of this money coming to fund this? The last debate, his answer was "Wall Street" for everything. That sounds very similar to Trump saying "I'll make better deals" over and over again.

Removing the income cap on social security tax is absolutely ridiculous. Why should the individual AND the individual's employer pay more into social security, money that the individual will never see. 118k is quite a bit already.

That is so unbelievably horrific and will cripple companies, which in the end will lead to more cuts and more unemployment.

It's radical ideas like this which makes Sanders VERY scary.

It was about what happened in Nazi Germany from the end of World War 1 until the denazification period after World War 2 and some things that are happening now. It's a reminder that this does not need to happen again.

So why do you think there is so much support for a candidate that is running on a socialistic platform?

I think someone doesn't know the difference between nationalist socialism (Nazis) and democratic socialism. Just because both have the term socialism does not make them comparable.

Exactly. I don't know if he is trolling or just genuinely ignorant about the difference between National Socialism (Nazism = BAD) and Democratic Socialism (Bernie = GOOD).

Sorry, that last bit is just my opinion. Chat Icon

You have it almost completely correct. Nazism = Bad and Bernie = Not Good.

I did say that last bit was just my opinion, no need to assert yours as if it is truth.

I will clarify: National Socialism=Nazism. Democratic Socialism=free enterprise + taking care of all of our citizens so that we all have a basic, decent standard of living.

Please read this if you want to actually educate yourself.

I won't lie, his ideas SOUND amazing. Where is all of this money coming to fund this? The last debate, his answer was "Wall Street" for everything. That sounds very similar to Trump saying "I'll make better deals" over and over again.

How Will Bernie Pay for His Proposals

Removing the income cap on social security tax is absolutely ridiculous. Why should the individual AND the individual's employer pay more into social security, money that the individual will never see. 118k is quite a bit already.

That is so unbelievably horrific and will cripple companies, which in the end will lead to more cuts and more unemployment.

It's radical ideas like this which makes Sanders VERY scary.

I agree 100% with this. I think a better idea would be to have these politicians pay into Social Security, why doesn't Bernie want to do that?

Foreshasdowing, all I keep thinking.

That's the same thing I'm thinking of. I went to a really good documentation center today with my family and DH about the rise of National Socialism and the dangers and history, etc.

There were a few points at the beginning that made us say "Trump". That's all I can keep thinking about now. It's getting dangerous now. He needs to be stopped.

What did they say about the dangers of National Socialism? I am interested to hear.

Uh, what? Is this a serious question?

The Obamaphone thing isn't true- it predated him and is not taxpayer funded. link

I highly doubt anyone will see two years of free CC either, in light of how much time he has left.
