I dont get nervous about this crap ever... even with Sandy -- Til we got 3 feet of water in our house... Now I see a dark cloud and I get knots in my stomach. If we get hit again I may seriously commit myself. We are still struggling from Sandy... I will NOT be able to handle another hit.

Sandy has just left us all so scarred I think. 
I'm better today but I actually was having chest pains at a point yesterday and I suspect it was from anxiety about this storm.
I still have issues when I hear major wind or rain. I also agree 1000% that until you've been through water coming out of nowhere and neighbors huddled in your house because it's the highest, crying, and elderly being rescued in a canoe or bulldozer you will never get it.
But go make fun and buy your Slurpees and coffee and complain when 7-11 closes.
I didn't make fun of anyone. I commented that I thought the storm would miss us, that is all. I really have no idea why you have such a stick up your ass about me.
And your follow up comment proves my point about the complete and utter disregard you have. Disgusting.
If you can't see how you comment can be taken the way it was, and continue to rudely make it about YOU....you will never "get it".....

I really think you're overreacting. What he said was not offensive or insensitive and least of all disgusting, Including his follow up comment.
I understand you're anxious and on edge, and clearly a bit of ptsd, but he didn't say anything wrong.

You WAY overreacted!!! Nothing he said read as disgusting, rude, or insensitive.
In his case I think his reputation precedes him as he has a history of being callous and nasty and inciting internet fights
Oh I know, I've seen his posts over the years but in this case and on this thread I didn't think anything he said was out of line. That's all.  
Didn't read the whole thread but I see his username and cringe and almost everytime his name is on a thread there is drama
I hear ya, totally understandable.

Honestly I don't understand why you think his comment was offensive. His comment made me feel better. He was just trying to say don't worry it will probably be nothing.
Same - I totally do not see what is offensive about his comment at all

And at the end of the day, he was right.
The storm is going out to sea, and the forecast for Monday and Tuesday that i saw on my phone this morning was sunny and 67 both days.
So yes, we will be drinking our coffee on Monday morning and saying, thank God, no storm.
I don't see how anything he said was "disgusting" at all.

Honestly, and don't take this the wrong way, if talking about this topic gets you SO upset and riled up perhaps it's in your best interest to NOT read threads such as this one. I think it's obvious Sandy did a number on you so maybe it's a good idea that you don't open a thread on hurricanes because it's a sensitive topic for you. I think, in this case, your experiences have caused you to overreact to a very harmless comment. I think if you go back and re-read what was said you'll see that.
In any case, it's nice that we can all relax now this weekend and not worry about any pending hurricane. Enjoy the weekend everyone!

They are insinuating she came back under a different name, not sure if they are also sayingn she is one of the posters on this thread. However, I never thought she was that bad of poster compared to others on here.
