Trimester Question
So we are going on Vacay at the beginning of May...cant cancel...so Ive been pretty dissapointed that if it doesnt happen now, then we have to wait until May to ttc again because I need to be out of my first trimester.
But Im a little confused on how they calculate it. I know that normally they calculate it from your last cd1, no matter when you conceived, correct??? So, just to make clarify...if we conceived on Feb 20, but my last periods first cycle day was feb 1, thats when they would starting counting from?
and if that's the case, or even if im wrong, is it 12 or 13 weeks from the date they begin counting?
oh and another question, if they start counting from say feb 1 but technically we conceived on feb 20, that would mean that on may 1, im 12 weeks but actually im only a little over 2 months....so, my question, is that safe then to travel??
sorry if im confusing. hopefully someone understands what i mean.

Re: Trimester Question
I was told its safe to travel in my first trimester. I had asked back before we were TTC because I was going to Europe and wanted to make sure it was ok if I did get pregnant, because we weren't trying but we weren't being super careful either.
I've always heard its only in your 3rd that you can't travel.

Re: Trimester Question
Yes, your pregnancy countdown begins with your the date of your last period. This site gives a great breakdown of how far along you are: countdown
As far as traveling, unless you are on bed rest you should be ok to travel. I traveled out of the country in my first tri. Best of luck to you!

Re: Trimester Question
i spoke to my doctor about traveling and you can definitely travel in your first and second trimester. I was even told I can do most activities that I want, just not scuba diving. My dr did warn though that everyone handles pregnancy different, so you may be on vacation with morning sickness or feeling a bit more tired than usual, but there is no reason not to travel. I wouldnt stop ttc since May is right around the corner.

Re: Trimester Question
I've heard that it's not safe to travel during your 3rd semester just in case you go into labor. But I think during the 1st it should be fine. I'm sure there have been many women who travelled during their 1st trimester and didn't even know they were pregnant yet.

Re: Trimester Question
I believe it is safe to travel during your 1st trimester...DH & I have a trip to Europe planned in 2 months. We're still trying for the BFP. Which means i could potentially be preggors while we're away.

Re: Trimester Question
Definitely safe to travel during your 1st tri. I have a trip planned out of the country for March and am hoping to be pregnant by then. Just find out where the nearest hospitals/medical centers are just in case.

Re: Trimester Question
question, how are you traveling? Flying, driving etc.....just curious. My mom flew all the way to Europe when she was like 7 or 8 months pregnant w/ me (to see family)....I just booked two trips this week, one in early June (driving, to Cape Cod) and one in early July (driving to Virginia). Both should be relaxed trips, so I'm not stressing about whether I'll be feeling like crap or anything and plus I may not even be pregnant by then, you never know. Have fun on your trip in May! Where are you headed?

I have no clue where I got this idea bout 1st trimester. But I couldve sworn I heard that but I guess not...I think I created it since you're supposed to be super careful your 1st trimester.
