Re: "trigger" shot question
Well, the shot causes ovulation so you are bound to feel a little crampy from that alone. I usually have some mild crampiness after the trigger which I attribute to ovulation but it's mild and goes away. The only thing that lasts for a good part of the 2ww is bloating- but I don't know if that's from the trigger alone or many other factors- like the number of follies I have ...... the injects I used to stim....... progesterone...... etc.
Good luck!
ETA: I wanted to add since you are using the trigger shot, you can't test too early or you will get a false positive! Since you are injecting HCG (the pregnancy hormone) you will test positive for about a week post trigger.

Re: "trigger" shot question
i always felt crampy and bloated after the trigger. sometimes the cramps would last a few days until ovulation was over. generally most people ovulate ~36 hours post trigger. you dont have to worry about "being ready" for the IUI. 99% of people ovulate within 48 hours of the trigger. its pretty rare for it not to happen, and chances are the IUI will happen anyway. many RE dont do a sono on IUI day anyway since its such a sure thing.
remember its HCG so its going to make you feel different and a little like you would feel if you got pregnant.
PS - a booster HCG shot is usually different, its a second HCG injection a few days later either post-O for corpus luteum or further maturing follies, or it can be used after an IVF egg retrieval for maturing corpus luteum as well .. so they generally aren't the same thing
