Tricycle or straight to bike with training wheels
Thoughts? DS will be 4 in May. He loves his big wheels so was gonna have my parents get him a big tricycle for his bday, but I know thinking maybe bike with training wheels.
Too young or right age?
He does great on a trike too. I've seen him going around at school.

We got our 3.5 year old a bike with training wheels, rather than a trike. Figured he'll get more use of it. They sell 12 and 16 inches models.

Def get the bike with training wheels..DH went and got one for DS when he turned 2..(I thought he was nuts) Sure enough, by the summer, at 2.5, he was riding all over on it! You will get more use out of the bike, in my opinion.

Ditto. We got him the 16" so he can use it longer.

We are going to get DS a bike for his 4th birthday... I think it is the perfect age...

Both my 3.5 & 2.5 year olds were given bikes with training wheels tor their birthdays. Definitely.will get more use then a trike
