Travel to NZ or Australia
I need a place to start my research
I've never worked with a travel agent, usually figure things out myself, but a little overwhelmed here.
Any advice? Been there?
Want to explore a little of the local cultures too. DH keeps getting offers to work in NZ and Australia. We are curious.

Re: Travel to NZ or Australia
we went to australia for our HM and it was absolutely incredible. i highly recommend it! we worked with a travel agent, Aspire Down Under based in NYC and they were fantastic. in terms of itinerary, we visited and stayed at the following:
4 nights in Sydney (four seasons) 3 nights Port Douglas (shantara resort) 2 nights in the Daintree Rainforest (daintree wilderness lodge) 3 nights on hamilton island (qualia - amazing!!!!!!) 1 night in cairns (lakes resort) 2 nights in melbourne (park hyatt)
i actually have a word doc with all of our excursion and restaurant reccos for each place. if you want to send me your email in a private message, i'd be happy to share.

Re: Travel to NZ or Australia
i did my study abroad in Australia and NZ
I lvoed NZ more - if youare thinking of workig there - i would def spend a couple of days in auckland and christchurch - the 2 biggest cities outside of the city, i would check out the malborough region if you like wine- just north of the chistchurch and between malboriugh region was a little sea town great for whale watching and swimming with dolphins int he wild (amazing experience)
it is very easy to drive around the island - mostly i stayed on the south island but if you wanted you could start in auckland and drive down to queenstown - in queens town tourr the fiords by boat - very pretty
NZ is beautiful - everyone is very friendly, try to take in a rugby game or a cricket match - I love kiwis - def great place to visit and live - i want to go back one of these days

Re: Travel to NZ or Australia
thank you for replies, helps in the search, going to start planning...
I hear things like "I liked NZ more" all the time, and I wonder if we will have time for both.
I wonder how much time you need to visit both NZ and Austalia?

A few years ago my mother and I took a vacation to both (it was a guided tour) - we were gone for almost a full month.

Re: Travel to NZ or Australia
I was told to not even consider to go to either one for less than 2 weeks MINIMUM.
