Track at Sachem High School...
can I go run there whenever I want? Is it locked off at certain times?

During school hours all campuses are supposed to be closed to the public for safety reasons. This is not necessarily enforced by all districts at all times so you could try it.
This time of the year is when many phys ed classes go outside (although with the current weather we've been having...) and keep in mind many teams practice after school on the field/track until early evening. Of course, during practice, they won't let you walk for your own safety.

I know I used to use it when I lived with my parents. I don't know if you still can. That was many years ago. I can't imagine them locking it though!

It's hard during track season, but I find more luck at my local junior high track. It's nit as nice, but it does the job.
