Please explain pros and cons.

My DS has very few toys in his bedroom Bc he rarely plays in there. Not sure about pros/cons but logistically since he doesn't spent much (awake) time in there, it doesn't make sense to keep lots of toys in there.

ETA: Just so people don't think his room is empty he has mostly LOTS of books!

My kids rarely are in their bedrooms unless they are sleeping so we only have a few books in them. Their bedrooms are upstairs so I prefer them to be on the same floor with us when they are playing anyway.

We keep quiet toys in their bedrooms. Things like puzzles, board games, books, reusable stickers etc. My 5yo is allowed crayons and coloring books, but the 3yo is not because he'll draw all over the whole room.

Everything else is in the playroom. There are a few things in the living room which is on a different level from the playroom.

My DS only has books and stuffed animals in his room. 98% of his toys are inthe playroom. The other 2% rotate into the living room.

We split between bedroom, living room, play room, and second kitchen (which we don't use as a kitchen, but their play kitchen and art desks live there). We keep play sets in their bedrooms, like monsters Inc play set and all the character people who go in it, PJ Masks play set, paw patrol playset, and other toys that would be lost in a bigger room. We rotate toys from the playroom into the living room and bedrooms too...I have 2 closets in the play room full of toys, so I hide things for a while. Up until DS1 was Ankit 2, he had only books in his room. Now the boys like to play upstairs, so we put more toys up there. I can trust both of them going up and down alone and they don't really destroy things, so it makes sense to keep things in rooms. I would never load up their rooms though, because then the rooms would become messy and right now they're manageable... The rest of my house constantly looks like a toy store exploded... We're working on getting rid of things too.

We don't have a playroom. All toys are in their bedroom closets-nowhere else in the house.

We don't have a playroom and never will so it's his room and he brings a few down to the living room.

Most are in their little corner of the living room. I keep a few big things in their bedroom and rotate them out.

My next house must have a playroom. My house looks like a daycare.

They have stuffed animals and a few random toys in their bedrooms. If I go upstairs to clean up or get dressed they will both play with whatever's in their rooms.
When DD gets a little older I wanna get her a nice dollhouse for her to keep in her room.

Both rooms have toys. Completed large Lego sets are on shelves in DS room. Dd has her doll house and AG dolls in her room. Board games and other toys are in the play room. Books are in their bedrooms.

My younger dd has all of her baby doll things in her room...I try to rotate it for her (last month it was her doll houses and before that her kitchen). We keep most toys in our upstairs playroom, but have been transitioning a lot to our basement. I have a no toys policy in my living room because it is the first room people see when they come into our house and we have plenty of other spaces that can be kid places. My older dds don't really keep toys in their rooms anymore...their AG dolls live on top of their dresser, but accessories and furniture are in the basement playroom. I'd like to get more organized, but I feel like we have so many toys for so many age groups, I'm not sure where to start!

DS's room is RIGHT off our living room (and so is ours- one of the reasons we're looking to add a level...) SO he has some of his toys in his room, in one of those 6-bin shelf things from Target. thats usually where he plays when he has a friend over. its nice bc i can keep an eye on them from the living room. he sleeps great at night, so having some toys in there hasn't been a problem. he's 6 now, and when he was like 4 and stopped napping, it was nice to have some toys in his room bc i could just tell him he had to play in his room for quiet time. ( I'm a SAHM mom and NEEDED that 30-45 minutes!!!)
we also have an odd little space that is the old kitchen from years ago (before we bought the house). we got this huge Ikea bin/shelf thing (25 bins!!) to put the rest of this toys in. (well, and some of my costco stuff like paper towels, SWiffer dusters, etc) Thats right off the living room, too so that makes a nice spot to keep his toys out of the way but close to the living room if he wants to play with them...
it really just depends on how your house is set up and what works for you..

Living room and bedroom. We don't have a designated playroom besides the living room so most of their stuff is there.

Everything is in the basement, half of which is designated as her playroom though some of the toys she got for Christmas and her birthday are in the living room now and it's driving me nuts.

We only have stuffed animals and books in her room.

We initially tried to only keep a few toys in the bedroom and then the rest in the den and basement. Toys migrated, though. The kids take them where they want to play. We now also have a bunch in the living room. It is what it is. I don't mind.

We have a spare bedroom we use as the playroom. He keeps the majority of his toys in there. He has mostly books and more educational games for his bedroom. He interchanges between the two rooms.

We don't have a playroom. I set their closet up to house toys. Some toys are in a bookcase in the livingroom. A few in the unfinished basement. Once we finish the basement next year, that will be their main play area.

I like to keep MINIMAL and I mean MINIMAL toys in the bedroom ........confine the mess to one area of the house!

All toys are in the playroom. The only thing that is in her room are books and a chair for reading.

When we were in our condo with no playroom we cornered off a section of the living room for the toys.

A few toys in their rooms - otherwise the toys are in the playroom/den and now babies toys have migrated to the living room

we keep toys in both. sometimes they like to play together in the playroom and sometimes they like to play separately in their rooms. i like the option of both.

Playroom. Bedrooms are for sleeping; there are no tv's or electronics allowed either. The only thing in the bedroom is books. When we have guests over it is also a way to keep them out of the bedrooms.
