what would you do...daycare related UPDATE
so....
day care has been a rollercoaster lately. they took out the 2 teachers in the room and now hannah has a new teacher everyday, which is very difficult for her as she forms attachments quickly. i also saw a teacher roll her eyes at her and be very firm with her. i know hannah can be high spirited, but nevertheless i am her mother and i dont appreciate that.
on top of all this, we are having serious money issues which i have posted about.
there is an opportunity here for her to go to babysitting where i work. it is not really structured but everyone that uses it speaks highly of the teacher.
my concerns: do i take her out of her current day care which is run more like a school and bring here where there is less structure but she would be in the same building?
its not about the cost to me, but obviously there would be a huge savings.
the following year she could go to their nursery program which is more structured.
  opinions????
  update 10/5
saw the room. very clean and airy. hannah would not be able to nap on a cot, she would have to nap in her stroller and they cant go outside if its nice out.
her current placement just sent out a note that they hired someone. knowing the above, would you still do it?

I would bring her to the day care at your center, without a doubt. It seems like a win win situation to me.

ITA! Plus you can see her during the day, if there is ANY issues you would be right there, less $$. WIN WIN WIN. Good Luck!

It looks like the place at work is much better. You can see DD, less $$, etc...
  I would go that route.

I agree too. It sounds great. If it doesn't work out, can you go back to where she is now?

Ditto. If you're concerned about the learning part, focus on that at home more.

Me too, especially at this age. If she were more like preschool age it might be different.

I would switch her to the daycare in your building. I don't think structure at her age is that important. She has plenty of time for structure.

  Jo -
She's already crying though with all the inconsistency in the other place. I think it would give you better peace of mind, plus the money thing makes this a no-brainer Good luck!!!

It actually may get her used to you coming & going. Separation anxiety isn't so bad once they see you're coming back.

Re: what would you do...daycare related
Honestly- It seems that you are unhappy with whats going on at your current center... I have read alot of your posts, and I believe its rightfully so...
With what you have posted in the past- I would DEF. be switching. (even if this opportunity didnt come up- Id be looking for new care!)
As far as you coming and going...
I work for my sons center- so Im constantly in and out doing tours, or classroom evaluations. It took a little bit, but DS is perfectly fine with me coming and going now. He understands that Im always here, and IMO gives him security.

Re: what would you do...daycare related UPDATE
I personally don't know if I like the idea that she won't be able to play outside when the weather is nice, and sleeping in a stroller? Would she be able to fall a sleep like that? Everything else originally sounded good but I don't think I would switch to that one due to the above, maybe try looking at some other places. Good Luck I know it can be diff on finding the right place for your dc.

Re: what would you do...daycare related UPDATE
yes, I would still take her to work. Roman almost always naps a few hours in his stroller on the weekends because we're usually out and about at that time. Also, do you get a lunch hour you could always take her out yourself if it is nice out. It's not like she'll be sleeping or outside the whole day, that's only a small part. JMO.

Re: what would you do...daycare related UPDATE
Based on your update I'd keep her in the structured daycare. I know infants can sleep anywhere, but there's no way either of my kids would settle down for a nap in a stroller.

Re: what would you do...daycare related UPDATE
I would do the one in your building.. My DD naps in the stroller everyday and its no big deal.. For right now the weather is going to be getting cold anyway so its really not a big deal right now plus like a prior poster you can take her out on your lunchbreak too if you get one.. you can change her diaper too then and Im sure you can run in and check up on her whenever you want.. the money will help too makes your life a little easier and your DD happier too

Re: what would you do...daycare related UPDATE
I wouldn't be crazy about napping in the stroller or the no outside thing to be honest. Moreso the napping in the stroller. Just curious how she can run a daycare without cribs or cots?

its not day care its babysitting. they are not regulated by the state and thats why they cant change diapers.
this is such a tough decision for me. sorry to perseverate on it, but its been really stressful.

Re: what would you do...daycare related UPDATE
Wait...they can't change diapers? So what happens when she needs her diaper changed? You have to go change her each time? I personally would go with the actual center or look for a happy medium between the two. While the babysitter would be nice since it's in your building, I think the diaper changing thing would be very inconvenient.
