Tooth Fairy

Need ideas. What does your tooth fairy do? How much? Any cute ideas?

DS hasn't lost a tooth yet. He's 5, but I have a feeling it could happen soon and I'm sooo not prepared. LOL!
He's a light sleeper so I fear slipping something under the pillow and getting caught.
Does your tooth fairy write any note?

Growing up my dad was the tooth fairy. He's the comedian in the family. Would put $$ in a white envelope with a cartoon looking tooth and him saying something silly or funny.
Need ideas for my DS when he losses the tooth. Thanks!

What about making him a little envelope out of felt to tie to his bed or put on a desk/chair to put his tooth in for the tooth fairy? That way you don't have to worry about waking him up. I've seen people spray or paint the money with glitter and leave little notes from the tooth fairy.

My kids have small figurine tooth pillows. Ds is a pirate and dd is a fairy. We put them on their night table so it does not get lost.

For the first tooth, the tooth fairy left a 20 folded into an origami heart with a quarter inside of it. All other teeth get a silver dollar.

There is a tooth fairy website with letters and a certificate that the tooth fairy can fill out and personalize.

My feeling is that we don't give an allowance, so that is why I am comfortable doing what we do. I know others give 5 for molars or 2 per tooth. Friends of ours give toys.

I have done gold dollar coins (get them at the bank), with glitter and a tooth receipt. For a boy you could just do the gold coins and tooth receipt. Most of the time I just do regular money since her teeth fall out right before bedtime it seems!

They now have tooth fairy pillows which hang on the door. Im.doing that when the times comes so I don't have to worry about sneaking in her room.
