Too much follic acid?
My re told me I have some rare disorder and my follic acid is extremely low and can cause birth defects as well as I'm at risk of a heart attack. I have to take fogard (follic acid) twice a day in addition to the prenatal vitamin.....I feel like thats ALOT of follic acid to take. And then I read up and too much follic acid can cause cancer and other problems so I'm nervous. I don't want to get a heart attack but I don't want cancer either

i would not worry if your doc told you to take it, i am sure he/she knows what they are doing, but if it makes you feel better i would just call and ask to ease your mind.

MTHFR gene mutation? We put those patients on the same amount of folate.

I was going to ask the same thing, is that what you have? I have it too and I also will be prescribed extra folic acid.

same...i have 2 copies and take metnax,lovenox and a baby asprin..

Yes that's it...I completely forgot what it was called but I remember him saying gene mutation

If it helps you remember it, I call it the M0THeFuckeR gene.
