Too early to carve pumpkins?

If we carved them today, will they make it until Halloween?

I don't think so. My DH a carved a pumpkin last week and the next day it was starting to sink in and smell.

Too early to carve pumpkins?

I just carved mine today. In the past they have always lasted from now until Halloween. Last yr I had some pumpkins that crapped out before I even carved them. Chat Icon had to get all new ones. SO maybe some are just have a longer life span than others.

Re: Too early to carve pumpkins?

we had our annual pumpkin carving party last night... so hopefully they last a few days until Halloween!! I think a lot depends on how the pumpkin was before you carved it... I would maybe do it Tuesday or Wednesday night if you can though, just to be sure.

Re: Too early to carve pumpkins?

We have uncarved pumpkins that are already getting soft and rotten.
Maybe because it's been so warm out up until this weekend?

Re: Too early to carve pumpkins?

All the villages around me are having their pumpkin carving contests tonight and tomorrow, so I hope so.
