Tonya Harding
What did everyone think about her being at the awards last night?
I thought it was in really bad taste. I understand the movie I, Tonya was up for a few awards but I didn't think she belonged there. Maybe because I did see the movie and it didn't change my opinion about her. It actually made me like her even less. Felt she always had someone to blame when anything happened in her life.

Is the movie in theaters already, i wasnt sure. I didnt like her there either. Like you, it left a bad taste. Want to see the movie though!!

I thought so too. I was thinking, why are they applauding her? I think it would have been different if the story had a different outcome. Like she actually stopped the attack.
Or maybe I would feel different if her attitude was better. I remember her being interviewed and her saying she couldn't wait to get on the ice and whip Nancy's butt. She always had a chip on her shoulder.

I saw some articles about how her situation was an example of treating low income people poorly and how they do things out of desperation or the way they were raised. Ok, I get that, and it's interesting that it was a movie instead of a mini-series like the OJ trial with Cuba Gooding Jr or the recent Menendez trial, but I agree - unnecessary for her to be at the GG. Same goes for that bizarro guy that James Franco played.

This is why I don't watch any of these award shows.
A bunch of billionaire celebs patting themselves on the back and giving each other awards like they are saving lives or something.

Exactly! James Franco is a known troller of underaged girls (late teens), Kirk Douglas raped Natalie Wood, Gary Oldman is a domestic abuser (beat his wife with a telephone in front of his kids), and Ewan McGregor praises Roman Polanski and constantly cheats on his wife.
But yeah, I'm glad they all wore black and wore a Time's Up pin.
