Tomorrow's my last day at this company...

and while I appreciate the sentiment, I don't want to be taken out to lunch.

Is that weird?

I've been here 6 years, and while I've enjoyed my time here, if i didn't have to come in today or tomorrow, i wouldn't.

Would it be bad to say thank you, but no thank you? If it were just the partners it would be fine, but a coworker has invited herself along and she is part of the reason I aggressively searched & found something else.

Although it is a free meal...

I would decline if the girl (the reason for leaving ) is going ORRRRRR I would go and kindly hint that she is the reason

Perhaps you can suggest skipping lunch and getting out a little earlier?

Or schedule your exit interview with HR in the morning and then leave before lunch?

I would skip the lunch blaming loose ends for the reason and cut out early tomorrow.

I would just go to lunch. Leave gracefully.

Don't burn bridges.

If the girl annoys you, just keep smiling to yourself that you are out of there!!

I agree. The world is smaller than it appears. You may end up running into the same people later on.

I'd just go to lunch. Better to leave there happily with your head up

OH leave gracefully Absolutley but there is a way to do what i previously said.... I don't think that is burning bridges ... cutting out early imo is.

ugh. such a strangely difficult decision. I'll probably just s()ck it up & go, even though I KNOW i'll be gripping my chair under the table until its over.

Thanks for your responses!
