Toddlers & Naps

DS is 13 months and when it's nap time, I can put him in his crib and within 10-15 min, he passes out. In the future, when he's in a toddler or twin size bed, how do I still encourage naps? Do I just put a gate up in his room and let him roam freely if he refuses to nap? Chat Icon

keep him in his crib as long as possible. My son is 2.5 and although he can most certainly climb out, he doesnt. I swear this kid will be sleeping in his crib, wearing diapers and sucking on a binky the daay he walks down the aisle to get married!Chat Icon

Re: Toddlers & Naps

You may not have any problem! DS was a great napper in the crib and when we moved him to his bed, he didn't realize he could get out on his own. When he did, we did have a few days where he would climb out and not want to stay in the bed. He loves cars so we would give him one to play with in the bed before he fell asleep. Now that's what we use to get him to look forward to nap time. He's almost 3.

And I apparently have his future wife in her crib, wearing her diaper & sucking on her kiki...happy as can be.
