Toddler with nightmares
How would you tackle this?! It's pretty clear that DD had a nightmare about snowmen this afternoon and she was totally hysterical when I tried to put her to bed tonight. She was very overtired which didn't help but she was just terrified and kept saying "There's no snowmen." I tried explaining snowmen only come in winter and talk about summer. I tried explaining what a dream was and telling her nice things she could dream about. Not sure what else to do. I ended up sitting in her room till she fell asleep bc she was so scared and I felt so bad. I'm just nervous she'll wake up later and freak that I'm gone or that every nap and bedtime for who knows how long is going to be a nightmare. Any advice on what worked for you?
Also, I'm fairly certain this stems from the frozen week they keep advertising on disney jr. hosted by Olaf. She hasn't seen frozen yet but I almost bought it yesterday. Do you think I should show her the movie hoping she'll like him or avoid it and disney jr during frozen week?

Re: Toddler with nightmares
DS and DD both get vivid nightmares. Time will help.
Frozen is actually pretty scary with a "scary snow monster" in it... I would def skip it if she's showing fear of snowmen.
Funny... We love Disney junior, but only watch it on demand!

Okay so the movie is definitely out! I don't know where she got this fear of monsters lately but that definitely wouldn't help. Before we went to sesame she was worried cookie monster would eat her! I guess we'll see how tomorrow's nap and bedtime go but she doesn't forget things easily.
