Toddler Meal Side Dishes
I need some recommendations for lunch and dinner side dishes for my 2 year old DD. I feel like I rotate through the same things all the time (rice, french fries, green beans, corn, string cheese, veggie straws). Thanks!

Re: Toddler Meal Side Dishes
I just made riced cauliflower tonight for DD. Well, more like heated it up lol. I got it in the frozen section of Trader Joe's. I did actually make a cheese sauce to put on top to make it more appealing.

Re: Toddler Meal Side Dishes
Zucchini tots - my son loves them. You can also make it with carrots. I got the recipe on Pinterest.
I also make eggplant patties that my son loves. I boil black eggplants, spoon out the middle and add seasoned bread crumbs, an egg, parmesan cheese and make them into little patties. I bake them in the oven on the cookie sheet that is greased with olive oil.
My son may be the only one lol but he loves romaine lettuce shredded with boiled carrots. I guess because he sees me eat salads alot he wants to be like mommy :) But he enjoys it

If I make salad I'll give each dd whatever veggies they like, plain baby spinach for dd1 and baby carrots and cucumbers for dd2.
We eat a lot of brown rice, roasted potatoes, sometimes fries or sweet potato fries.
Steamed or roasted broccoli, green beans with almonds (green giant makes it so super easy), peas, corn are our most frequent veggies.
At lunch I give yogurt, fruit, raisins and peanuts, a small granola bar, a few goldfish or pretzels,
Maybe veggies with hummus or ranch for dipping. My 2yo likes tzaziki for dipping too. You can give apples and peanut butter. In warmer months I make pasta salad, quinoa salad, bean salad, cucumber salad, etc.

My DS gets a fruit and a veggie with every meal. He hates potato items so never gets French fries or mashed etc. Sometimes I will give him rice but hes not the biggest fan.
Pasta is his only starch and thank god he loves his veggies. I rotate the veggies and the fruits to mix it up.

Re: Toddler Meal Side Dishes
roasted vegetables are a hit here: sweet potatoes, broccoli or cauliflower; mashed sweet potatoes; sliced red pepper or baby carrots w/ hummus to dip; i keep frozen mixed veg on hand for a quick side

We generally just do veggies or fruit.
Broccoli Green beans Carrots (cooked or raw) Cucumbers Peas Corn Sweet Potatoes Roasted fingerling potatoes
And then literally any fruit:
Blueberries Raspberries Strawberries Clementines Apples Watermelon Honeydew Cantaloupe Bananas
We don't eat a ton of rice, so it's just not something I think to make. Pasta we only do as a main dish, not a side. Veggie straws and the like I save for snacks.

Broccoli bites, cauliflower and potato tots, sweet potato fries
ETA usually a fruit too. Most of the time strawberries
i started putting fruit on their plates with their meal because I find they eat better when they can go between the food and fruit/snack as they please.

Always a veggie- broccoli, cucumber, carrots, tomatoes, peas, corn, green beans Fruit we save for after dinner. After dinner they get fruit, then they can get a treat for dessert. We will also do brown rice, pasta with butter, once in a blue moon I will make Rice-a roni. My kids don't like french fries or mashed potatoes, but I can sometimes get them to eat a baked potato.

Also DD loves these spinach kale bites I get in the app section at Trader Joe's. I'm not a kale lover but they're actually really good.

Re: Toddler Meal Side Dishes
We have kids on adult diet.
For side dishes, we do veg: Asparagus Cauliflower Broccoli Broccolini Green beans Carrots Potatoes Spinach Kale Corn Peppers
We try to go light on carbs for dinner, so pasta and rice are a treat with some meals.
