Today is...
the 27th anniversary of my mother's sudden death.
It actually happened around this time of day.. just hit me like a ton of bricks a few minutes ago
As I come closer and closer to the age at which she died (I'm 35 and she was just 38) I can't help but wonder the woman she would have been had she lived. I vow, again, to not get caught up in the non-sense and stress of life but yet truly value what is important for, no matter how many years I have on this planet, life is still too short.
Love and treasure each day and each person in your life.

Unfortunately, I don't have many memories as I was only eight years old... although I do remember that night vividly. At that age your parents are still idealized, all-knowing, all-powerful, infallable people. She was just "Mummy" (she was Scottish), I never got to learn about the woman behind the role of mother.
I do think she has nurtured me and protected me more from heaven than she ever could have done on Earth.
Thank everyone for the hugs. Between the massive home construction and the TTC drugs I'm on, one minute I'm "Nicey-nice Tweez" and the next I'm "Emotional wreck Tweez"
