To go ahead or reschedule....what would you do?

I would go head as planned. You may not be able to be near DD as much as you'd like, but I think a couple of days of sadness now, is well worth saving her from discomfort for the next month or so.

To go ahead or reschedule....what would you do?
i have gone through the surgery with my son when he had his tonsils out- he had adenoids out at a younger age and because i had twins that i was nursing that were youinger i could not stay overnite with my son - 2 at the time
it was hard - he was attached to me but he never mentions me not being their the first days - honestly it is best to have 2 at the hospital one parent to take care of the child and another adult to fill in when one has to go to the bathroom or to get food
but it is best and scheduling them are not easy - i would go forward - you will be fine to help in a day or so and you will still be needed - they are still in a lot of pain as the scab heals on the tonsils
some things to have in the house for your daughter
lollipops with numbing agent in them
clear juice that is not read - gatorade and so on
ice pops - non red ones
also avoid milk based products for a few days
they tell you to avoid red things in the hospital but not always before - so this will help you get ready to have her home
also we had lots of problems with the tylenol with codenie - so know a good way to give meducune - and my son loved medicine

I agree. My daughters are very attached to me but I would do anything to take away any discomfort they might have. I would go ahead as planned as well.

She is only doing a partial tonsil at nyu they said it is a 45 min deal, 2 hrs recovery then she comes homes.

Thank you. It seems everyone agrees I made the right decision. Makes me more relieved to know others would make the same decision. I thought it was best but was second guessing myself.
