To be team green or not to be? thats the question! *update*
For our 1st baby we found out at the level 2 at 20 weeks (a girl). This is our 2nd and last baby, I feel like since this is it we should be team green and have it be a surprise. DH totally disagrees, he says he "hates surprises", but this is gonna be a good one! Also, I've planned before, prepared, etc. for DD, whereas for this one im willing to wing it.
What are the pro's and cons of being team green? Any experiences with both?
Eta: DH thinks he should find out and I should be team green alone. He promises he wont spill the beans. I think this is a terrible idea lol.
*update*
So I talked to DH and I told him how much I wanted this and he said he would still rather find out, but he'll go along with being team green to make me happy. I feel bad that I pressured him, but I think he'll love the end result of being surprised.

I want to know, and DH doesn't....so I said he could have his way. He has been pretty awesome, so he can have what he wants. But I really, really want to know!

To be team green or not to be? thats the question!
This sounds like me and DH (only I am not currently expecting). I wanted to stay team green for DS and DH wanted to find out. We talked it out and decided to find out for the first and stay team green when we have a second. He doesn't love the idea of not finding out for our next LO but it's only fair since I compromised the first time around! I don't think I could personally handle him knowing and me not finding out. That would drive me nuts!

This is my first and we found out. I'm thinking to stay team green if we have a second because I will be a BTDT mom and it won't be so stressful, just exciting!

We are on our 3rd team green baby. I love not knowing. We have 2 boys so sure it would be much easier to know this time. Do we have to wash everything or go on a shopping spree?
I love the anticipation of not knowing creates.

To be team green or not to be? thats the question!
i loved being team green. i never got my "its a girl" moment though cause i had an emergency c-section under general so i was asleep. they told me when i woke up but i was too groggy to remember. i will def be team green again next time around. no doubt in my mind. i just dont have the gene of the planner, i def dont "need" to find out, i honestly dont even understand people who have that need. i have the need to be surprised and i absolutely loved hearing peoples reasoning and guesses, it was so much fun and made it so exciting towards the end since everyone was soooo curious what it was!
the only thing i will say is that you should def do it cause you want to. if you really want to find out i feel like it would be less fun. i think its something you both have to want to do to get the best experience out of it. good luck!

NOT, I give credit to those who can wait but I would not be able to for various reasons
- I won't be able to bear the suspense! - don't care to get a bunch of yellow and green baby clothes - don't want to have to pick 2 sets of names - don't want to wait to decorate the nursery or decorate with some gender neutral theme

Re: To be team green or not to be? thats the question!
I was thinking about it, because I had to wait until 30+ weeks for my sono.... but I'm so glad I found out! Now that I'm very close to the end I like not having another thing to wait for & also I've been able to get some gender specific things.

I found out with my son for #2 I love the idea of doing team green, it is our last one (unless god has other plans lol) and I would love to be surprised, that said DH isn't 100% on board and I can see myself caving lol

To be team green or not to be? thats the question!
I was a team green mom....Dh was against it but I told him he had no choice. In the end he is glad we went team green. It's fun not knowing and just enjoying the pregnancy. Hearing "it's a ...." After going through labor is an amazing feeling. I feel like it helped motivate me to get through labor it was like telling myself ok baby it's been 41 weeks time for the secret to be over lol
We plan on doing it again for baby 2. Actually Dh wants to know for baby 2 bc he really wants a son and his plan is if we have two girls he would go for a third. So my concern with finding out for #2 is that if its another girl Dh will rush the pregnancy along and rush for baby 3 I want to enjoy every minute of it
IMO I would not let Dh find out - that will be a very hard secret to keep

To be team green or not to be? thats the question!
We are team green as well and this is our last. A part of me is dying to find out now but the other part wants to have that moment of hearing the Dr say 'it's a....' and seeing them at the same time.
My 20 week isn't for another few weeks , but the gender is already written in my chart since I did the maternit21 test at 12 weeks. So I really need to stick to my guns every time I go for an appointment and NOT ask what it is.
I am also OCD and would love to know just so I can prepare and organize especially because I saved all od DS's clothes and they are taking up A LOT of space in my moms attic. If its a girl I will get rid of 98% of them when I have time. It would be nice to get that out of the way before my life gets even more hectic .

To be team green or not to be? thats the question!
Wanted to add that my SIL and her DH had split decisions about wanting to know for both of her pregnancies.
Her DH knew the genders of their DD's at 12 weeks (she had the maternit21 tests) and he kept the secrets the entire time. He never once slipped or messed up! We were all impressed.

This is exactly how i feel! I dont want to have to worry bout decorating a nursery after nor buying clothes if the sex is different from first dc. I love to prepare n i get excited doin it n shoppin now

Team Green for LIFE!!!! Best surprise ever!!!
What is there to plan? It's a baby, kwim? Nursery can be done gender neutral, or wait. I didn't really have any green and yellow clothes. Lots of cute brown and monkeys. Plus I received so much after baby was born. Makes pregnancy so much more interesting. Always questioning what is it? People's guesses. So much fun!

Re: To be team green or not to be? thats the question!
No cons at all and no regrets! It really was SO fun to be team green and was the best surprise. As many people say…there aren't many surprises left in life and this is your last chance!
Many people say they need to be able to plan. Well I planned…I got all the stuff I needed for his or her arrival, I decorated a nursery, etc. It doesn't matter what color it is anyway…it is more for you then them…they have no idea lol.
Also the baby usually sleeps in your room in a bassinet for a few weeks so you can hold off on the nursery if you want. You can get the furniture and order two types of bedding (then return one). Or do neutral…I did yellow and gray and now added purple once she was born! As for clothes, yes you will get some yellow and green ducky clothes but once the baby arrives people will go nuts buying you pink or blue! You can still use the yellow clothes that the baby can wear to bed or when you are home lounging OR as a back up when they poops through 7 outfits a day lol.
Anyway the best part is having semi-neutral stuff for the next baby! Like sleep sacks, pacifiers, sippy cups, the stroller, etc.

We are Team Green. We are doing the shower and setting up the room after baby is born to avoid having to get gender neutral stuff.

Re: To be team green or not to be? thats the question!
I think ultimately it depends on what's important to you and if you're patient lol.
I wanted to be team green for this first pregnancy but DH really wanted to find out. He said he would find out and keep it a secret but I just knew I would be too tempted or somehow it would make its way out. I decided to find out as well, and was so anxious to do so. Maybe it was because it was my first and we all have inclinations and "imagine" what our first child may be.
Thinking about it now, would I want to find out for the next one...I think so. As soon as I found out I immediately starting calling her by the name we had picked out and I felt closer to her more than ever. Calling her her and by her name instead of baby or whatnot. That's not to say I wouldn't be close to my LO inside if I didn't know, but that's been my experience and I can't compare it to anything else.
I can't think of any negatives to finding out early...I still think the birth will be exciting even if you know its a boy or girl inside.
