Tmi..baby poop question
Dd is 2.5 weeks old. I pump and give her formula (each bottle is half and half). Her poop is pretty soft. Not quite liquid, but somewhat runny. The color is often green with yellow in it and it does have a seedy apppearance. I limit my dairy although she is on a milk based formula with iron. Is the texture and color normal? Thanks.

Yes, that is normal. It should look seedy at times. Green and yellow are normal. Congratulations and good luck!

Congratulations!!
Green poop in a BF baby could mean that the baby is getting too much foremilk. How long do you pump for?

20-25 minutes. I read that also and that it can be from the iron. How can I tel if it's too much foremilk?

Foremilk is the thin watery milk that comes out first, followed by the thicker, creamier looking hindmilk. Although my dr says 10 mins on each side, I notice dd doesn't have as many green poops when I let her stay for longer on 1 side without switching to the other side. I've heard there are more nutrients in hindmilk than foremilk, but I remember reading that this wasnt true, so who knows?
I've also noticed that DDs diapers look different depending on what I eat. They are always watery and sometimes seedy, sometimes not. She is EBF. I think it's all ok unless there is a lot of mucous or visible blood.
