TMI Alert!!! Need opinions, please!
So, DH and I just started to TTC!!!! I know, I'm so excited! So, we had our first night of BD on Tuesday, July 14th (just 3 days ago!). We only did it that one night. I had finished my period a day and a half prior to this.
So, 3 days later and I had a light flow of blood last night for about an hour which subsided to brown spotting (told you, TMI!). I have some abdominal cramping as well.
So, what could this mean ladies?????
ETA: This is the very first time we tried, so I don't know what to expect! TIA!

Re: TMI Alert!!! Need opinions, please!
Well, it sounds promising remember that it all depends on when you ovulated and how long your cycles are
If you BD'd 3 days after AF stopped, i would assume that was around CD 10 which is when many people ovulate also, sperm can last up to 5 days
I tested + with DS at 9DPO but lots of people say to wait until AF is late
it is totally up to you - Good Luck!!!!

Re: TMI Alert!!! Need opinions, please!
Did you recently come off of birth control? If so, it could just be your cycle being a little whacky, which is normal at first. It takes around a week for implantation to happen so it sounds like it's too early for implantation spotting/cramps. It's probably just some spotting since your body is getting used to living without the hormones.
But since AF just left, you have at least 2 weeks of BDing to do so have at it!!

Re: TMI Alert!!! Need opinions, please!
if you finished your period almost 5 days ago..is that right? then you're not ovulating yet, at least that seems too soon to be ovulating.
are you tracking ovulation? how long are your cycles normally? i highly suggest investing in the clear blue fertility monitor or buying digital opk's (the line test i could never figure out.)
ETA: how long are your periods lasting? if you're coming off BCP it can get wacky and that may be what the spotting is.
however, it only takes 1 lucky sperm to fertilize your egg..so who knows!!

Re: TMI Alert!!! Need opinions, please!
depends on how long you bleed for many people ovulate around day 10 and you should be somewhere around day 13 now - correct???
also, my friend who is in the 2ww actually ovulates WHEN she gets her period
she is using a donor and went for a sono while she had her period; and they gave her the shot to speed up ovulation since she was showing a follicle
you never know!!!

Re: TMI Alert!!! Need opinions, please!
What CD are you on? I think the "norm" (note, many women do not fall into this category) is that women will ovulate anywhere from CD10-CD20 or beyond, depending on your cycle length. So it doesn't really matter when your period ENDED, but more when it started.
How many days after your period started did you BD?
Also, how many days have your cycle been on average since you went off BC in January?
Lots of luck!!!

My periods range from 24-34 days since being off BC in January. I NEVER had spotting since I stopped. HTH

Someone with more knowledge can feel free to correct me, but I believe tracking CD's is pretty simple. Day 1 aka Cycle Day 1 (CD1) is the first day you get a heavy period. Your cycle length is how long it takes to get your next period after CD1. If your "typical" cycle is 28 days, then you get your period on CD1, ovulate about CD14 and get your next period on CD29 which would then become the next CD1. Makes sense?
Since your cycle has been anywhere from 24 to 34 days, then you are theoretically ovulating between CD10 and CD20.
Also, sperm can survive inside you for 3 days (some say up to 5 days!). So if you BD'd on CD8 or CD9 (8 days after CD1, aka the day your period started), then ovulated anywhere from CD10-13 or 14, then there is a very good chance you could have gotten pregnant!!!!
I hope that helps a bit!

Re: TMI Alert!!! Need opinions, please!
I HIGHLY recommend you read this book
"Taking Charge of Your Fertility"
it is a revelation!! every woman should read this book, particularly if TTCing.
a few key takeaways from the book... 1. not every woman O's on day 14 of her cycle 2. sperm can only survive inside you for days if there is fertile quality cervical fluid/mucus present. otherwise, it dies farily quickly. 3. there are 3 different kinds of CM. and most women will only get pregnant when the eggwhite CM is present.
get this book!
