Title Search (edit w/ update)
How long does it take? It has been a week since my lawyer put in for it. That is the only thing we are waiting for now and I am getting antsy.
UPDATE
Our lawyer did get it back, he was waiting to get the seller's bank attorney information. Seems like everything is okay except there were some judgments found on the seller's end, but will be cleared by the seller's attorney if they belong to them. I do not know what that means and hope its not bad.

Ours was quick, a week, 10 days at most. However, I do remember reading in some old posts that sometimes the searches can take longer particularly now when more people are buying to get the 8K tax credit.

maybe b/c there aren't too many title companies left?
alot of companies closed in the last 2 years
just a thought

The search itself has nothing to do with the 8K tax credit..i'm sure the search didn't take any longer than a week or so..maybe to get to closing is what took a while
