I always buy the 300- 450 thread count. No sure of the exact #'s. My DH hates scratchy sheets. I only buy 100% cotton & I check the measurements to make sure they are going to fit my mattress. I have found that TJ Max and marshals have the best prices for king but dont have a very exciting collection.

You want 100% cotton, not a blend. Egyptian cotton and pima cotton are the nicest, I think. And the higher the thread count, the better. I tend to splurge on sheets because I figure I only buy them once every couple of years, and sleep on them every night, so I like 400+ thread counts.
