tips for eye drops

last week Wed and Thurs DS eyes were the tiniest bit pink and he had a cold. His ped agreed with me that it was likely viral but to watch it and just in case sent me a prescription for drops.

DS eyes cleared up by Friday and has been fine the last almost week. I however caught it and have been dealing with conjunctivits myself. I've been as cautious as i can. new pillowcases, hand washing etc...

Well today DS has slightly red eyes again.

I know the viral kind can keep getting passed around the home easily but just in case should i start him on the drops and if so any suggestions on how to give eye drops to a 2 year old?

When kids were younger i would have them tilt head, close eyes and drop them in corner of eyes, when they opened them they would roll in. Now they are bigger so i have them help me drop it in by holding bottle with me and squeezing
