I waitressed for a number of years and always appreciated 20%, so when I have good service I definitely give 20% if not more.

I always give 20%, even if the service is bad I feel bad giving any less. If there service is great, I'll give more than 20%. It's such a tough job, one that I certainly could never do. I don't double the tax because we live in CT and doubling the tax here wouldn't cut it.

I double the tax and add a little bit more. But I have no problem decreasing the tip for poor service on the servers part.
