Tipping at the car wash makes me uncomfortable....
..when they dont have one tip jar for all.
There are just too many guys working on my car (two guys vaccuuming and cleaning the tires, 2 or 3 guys cleaning the inside and drying it) and I never know who to tip and there is no way I can tip them all. I get so frazzled!
I usually just end up tipping the one closest to the drivers side door when I go to get in, but then I feel bad that I didn't tip the other guys.
Why cant they just have one shared tip jar??
Any one else like this? Who do you tip?

This is what I do as well.
Well that's the whole issue. So everyone else is doing the actual washing of the car, but the guy who wheels it out and dries it is the only one getting tipped. I like to think that the last guy would split it with the rest, but that's probably not so.
The car wash I go to has a shared tip jar. Maybe you could suggest it to them? There is no way you could track everyone down to tip them. No reason you should have to!

i dont think that they expect you to tip each guy individually.
i usually tip the guy who collects my paid reciept...Usually he is the guy standing by the drivers side door.

Yes that is the issue.. the car wash by me has signs by where they park each car saying something like "if you like your service, tip them individually and if you don't let management know"

I will tip the last guy close by but I would assume that they split up their tips at the end of the day or have some kind of rotation system  . I can't see the same guy getting tipped over and over again and the other workers being okay with it.

my place has a tip bucket near the vacuum station for those who clean out your car then send it off to be cleaned. then you tip the people who buff out your car and do the little detail work.

In that case, I would let mgmt know that this is a crazy system and they should put a tip jar in place like there is at just about every other car wash.
The last time I had my car washed something like 7 or 8 guys did something between vacuuming, scrubbing, windows, drying etc. How do you tip that many people? $1 each is more then the cost of the car wash.
