Tiny Houses- Noisy for baby

We have a small ranch, and it just seems like DD can hear everything when she's in her room sleeping. Even with a fan on the floor in her room for white noise, she hears every dish moved and everything when she's sleeping, I hate that she gets disturbed so often. We practically tip-toe around b/c we don't want to wake her. I wish she could get used to the noise, but she's 6.5 months and is a pretty light sleeper.

Anyone else experience this?

We live in a tiny house and DS can sleep through anything. We also live about 5 minutes from Islip airport and he sleeps through the planes taking off and landing.

I guess we just lucked out that he is a deep sleeper.

DS seemed to be a light sleeper but the sound machine REALLY seems to help him. His room is right next to our kitchen and it's not even a real wall that separates him (it's one of those compression walls blocking in a doorway) and although we try to be quiet, he seems to sleep ok through our noise.

We have the same issue...my dd seems to wake up when we turn over in bed in our room! We tried a CD of soothing noises, a fan, and a white noise machine and nothing helped...we just keep making normal noises and soothing her back to sleep, hoping that she will become accustomed to the noise and learn to sleep through it.

we have what i call the tiniest house in the world! cute, but SMALL! anyway, i know what you mean. i am so paranoid that DD can hear everything. we got a good white noise machine from Brookstone and it blocks out a lot of household noises and she sleeps pretty well

Re: Tiny Houses- Noisy for baby

We live in a small ranch as well but thankfully DD is a great sleeper. DH was using the nailgun in the hallway right outside her room Sat. night and moving the ladder around & she slept right through it. But then last night he/I tip-toed into her room & were standing over her crib & she immediately opened both her eyes & looked at us & smiled.

For the most part though she's a great sleeper...we do use a white noise machine & lately the humidifier.

DD hears everything too. We use a soft music CD and a white noise machine for naps and until we go to sleep at night. When we go to bed, we turn off the music CD but keep the white noise machine on.

We have lived in a studio apartment since DD was 6 months old. DD sleeps soundly in her alcove closed off with drapes. We can watch tv, put away dishes, talk, and the dog can bark once or twice and a fire truck can go by with sirens blaring and she doesn't wake up.

Before that, we lived in a 2 bdrm apartment on LI. She woke up for everything.

In our case, it may be an age thing or it may be that hearing noise in the background comforts her because then she knows we are not far.

I do hope it gets better for you soon!

I have a small ranch. I put the humidifier on for dd as white noise and she is not disturbed by us. We have carpet which may help, as much as I hate it Chat Icon
