Thrush questions

Im pretty sure we have thrush. DD has little white spots under her lips and my boobs are on fire when she breastfeeds. I had to take her off it hurt so bad.

So now what do I do? Do I call the ped? Or my doctor? What do I do tonight in the meantime? Try to breastfeed even though it hurts so bad? (and is it bad for her to have the milk?) Or do I just try to pump? Can I freeze that milk? I have plenty of breastmilk to feed her in the freezer if I need to use that.

My dd got thrush but I was not breastfeeding at the time. I called her ped and they prescribed nystatin for her. It's an liquid you swab in their mouth. It cleared up pretty quickly for her. I'm not sure about breastfeeding though.

Both of you need to be treated. If you take DC to the dr for meds you must call your dr and tell them so you can also be prescribed meds.
FYI if you pump that milk is no good

Dd had it and gave it to me. The pediatrician prescribed nystatin for both of us (her a liquid and me a cream). I was told to continue feeding and the breast milk was ok to freeze
I also sterilized all bottles nipples pacifiers etc once we started the meds and again when we finished them

Our Ped gave my DD nystatin liquid for the mouth and gave us nystatin cream for me and for a rash she had by her neck. The thrush went away in a week. I was told I could keep breastfeeding just make sure I put the cream after every feeding. I'm not sure if I ever got the infection cause I wasn't sore at all but I still used the meds.
