those with long cycles....question
so im getting frustrated with my 40+ day cycles and i have no idea if im even o'ing. poor dh....i keep telling him i think im ovulating like every other day and he has been putting in overtime haha
do any of you do the opk's? i feel like if i have a 60 day cycle im going to go thru tons of them since i have no idea how long my cycle will be.
is there a way i can go to my doctor to see when and if i ovulate?
i have my annual appt next month and im going to bring up my wacky cycles and ask to get blood work done to see if PCOS is the problem.

Re: those with long cycles....question
I'd get the cheapie ones off amazon and when you think you're getting a positive back it up with the Clearblue easy smiley ones.
Sounds like you need OPKs to pinpoint your fertile window.

Re: those with long cycles....question
my cycles are long...but not that long (about 32-40 days). I first used the first response digital, but ran out of that before I o'd. So then i got the test strips from amazon and they are great! i dont start testing until cd15 but even if you test early its not a big deal since the tests are so cheap. i would def suggest getting the tests so you can figure out your fertile days. i dont think your dr will do much for you unless you have been ttc for a while (in which case sonograms and bloodwork can help pinpoint when you o).

I agree with the cheapie OPKs. I got pregnant very quickly while using those.

Re: those with long cycles....question
I would def see your doctor...you may actually not be ovulating...I had very long cycles and I wasn't ovulating.

Re: those with long cycles....question
I have PCOS so I knew I wasnt ovulating...you should get some bloodwork to find out the cause of your long cycles...the internet opk's are like 100 for $10 so really cheap but they can be hard to read and if you have PCOS they may not be accurate.

Re: those with long cycles....question
this past cycle I bought the ovulation dip stick tests and pregnancy tests from babyhopes.com they're MUCH cheaper, I think it came with 30 ovulation tests.....and I did use a lot of them since I didn't O until CD 25!! I would definitely buy them and try them at least one cycle to see how it goes, good luck!!!
