Those with kitchen islands & barstools
In another 6 months or so, I would like to start to move my now-16 month old out of his highchair and sitting at the table with us - I am pregnant w/ #2 and do not want to have to buy another highchair and keep 2 around. Has anyone used a booster seat strapped onto a bar stool? We don't have a kitchen table, we sit at our island to eat mid-week, and dining room when we have company. I was considering getting one of these, not sure how it would work.

I wouldn't waste the money on anything. My son has sat on a regular seat since before he was 2. This includes regular dining room chairs and the high stool chairs at our island with no issue.

We had a bar height table and when we eliminated the high chair, he just sat there. No booster seat. Your son will be fine and will probably think it is super cool he can sit in the big chair by himself.

I would think a booster on a bar stool would not be safe. What about putting a kiddie table next to the adult table? My 22 mo never liked her high chair, so as soon as she was old enough, I put a kids table and chairs and both of my kids eat there together.

I used a booster seat similar to the one you posted. It was fine. Obviously I didn't leave him unattended when he was sitting in it because I was scared of the chair tipping over. I felt like if I let him sit on the island chairs he would be all over the place. The booster contained him more.
