Do they usually put in the posts and let the concrete set or do they set the fence up, panels, concrete and posts at the same time?

DH said they would probably put up the posts and let them set in concrete, but it seems like the whole thing is gong up.

Re: Those who've has PVC fences put up...

We had our PVC fence put up this summer. They put the posts in, they had to dig about 2' into the ground to place the posts, filled them with concrete and started working on the fence as that set, since everything was being cut to size.

Our gate had concrete poured after the gate was installed and we were advised we couldn't open the gate for at least 3 days to allow the concrete to harden and set.

They put everything up at the same time for us. They just told us not to open the gates for a couple days.

Fence posts and fence go up at once, even with the concrete. However, gates should not be hung (if they are a certain weight/size) until a day or two after so the posts set. That's what I was told and t hat's what they did.

What height is your fence? Ours was 6 ft with LARGE gates (4 ft and 5 ft openings) so they had to make sure the posts were secure.

I think it depends on the contractor. I have heard of it being done both ways.

Our posts and panels were put up the same day. The gate was up the following day.

Same. Posts and panels on day one, then they came back for the gates.
