Those who used to work at a supermarket!
Do you plan on watching 10 Items or Less premiering tonight on TBS at 11?
I've always thought that they should make a sitcom on the supermarket life - I cant wait to watch it!

Oh no, it's been 18 years but I still suffer from flashbacks...
"I NEED A PRICE"....
"I NEED THE KEY"...
"BILL CHECK"
I worked old school, pre scanners.
The only thing I really liked to do was "level" the shelves of the aisles that Tommy F. was working in. I had a HUGE crush on him
I think I'll pass. I served "my time" that's why DH does the grocery shopping

Me too! We also didn't accept credit cards either (I stopped in '93) so it was either cash or check.
I also leveled for a while. That's how I met my first boyfriend.

HOLY CRAP this is all sooooo true!!!! I think my voice is still hoarse from screaming that I NEED THE KEY! Or I NEED CHANGE!
I loved leveling too. Especially the bread.
And not to sound like a total sl ut but I think I dated someone from every department of the supermarket!

I just hated the leveling since the manager that usually made me level had it out for me once I became a F/E and a bookkeeper (i was only 17 - you were supposed to be 18, but none of the 'adults' wanted the extra hours/responsibility). Once I became one, I only was a cashier like 1-2x a week at most... so she would watch me like a hawk when i leveled. She'd yell at me down the aisles, and then talk to me like i was 6 if a jar was slightly off.
Ugh! I loved returns though - especially when obscure items would have me searching - and off leveling - for hours

I worked at Waldbaum's... We actually didn't need the 'key' it was a card... that we called the key since apparently we couldn't move on

I did work at Foodtown
There is now a Staples there in Hicksville/Plainview. the store is now Shoprite and moved across the street.
Sad thing is sooooo many people I worked with are still there.
