I grew up in Queens and now live in Nassau. I miss Queens a lot. I'm not even that far into Nassau!

I like Suffolk so much better.
No offense to the Nassau folks- I loved it when I live there- but Suffolk is more my style.
I have a much bigger yard now, there seems to be more wide open spaces, etc.

No way!!!

The town I grew up in is way too congested now.

There are a lot of other reasons as well.

LOL I swore I wouldn't live in Suffolk that it was too "country".

Now I live in Setauket and LOVE it. Nassau is way too congested for me.

yes and no.

I love my big backyard and not having to deal with Nassau politics, etc., BUT I miss being so close to everything.

I Love Suffolk..So much more back to Nature then Nassau. Much too congested now.

I grew up in Nassau and still live there. I have never lived in Suffolk, but it's not for me... so hard to pinpoint exactly why, but I am def a Nassau person. Maybe I just like congestion and road work

I actually grew up in suffolk

then moved to Nassau,Queens and NYC

after 15 years I back living in Seatauket and I could not be happier

I wont be leaving again- unless I leave the state

I don't miss it at all!!!

I just think Suffolk is less congested, more "woodsy" and you feel like you are close to everything, but yet just far enough away from the hustle and bustle.

I don't miss the Southern State Pkwy at all

i moved to suffolk and lived there for 2 years after living in nassau my whole life. i hated it. too quiet most of the time. moved back to nassau a few months ago and love it.

Nope!

I love how Suffolk is less congested and usually people have more property. I love being close to things that are further east as well.

I miss is it terribly. Although there are good points about living in Suffolk I would much prefer to live in Nassau closer to my family.

I grew up on the Queens/Nassau (Floral Park/Little Neck) border, then moved to the south shore (Merrick) when I was 14... and I haven't lived on LI since I moved to the city after graduating college. I don't miss living there at all-- but my parents and ILs are still there. We briefly considered lookin g for a house there to be closer, but we are very happy with Westchester, although I could do without the coyotes.

I moved from Nassau, to NYC, to Westchester - that was 10 years ago. I don't miss it at all. I do miss the beaches and my family, but don't miss the rest! I love Westchester!

I grew up in Nassau and moved to Suffolk.
I thought I'd miss Nassau...but I really really love Suffolk. Of course, it might just be that I love owning my own home and living in it with my family, and I could be anywhere as long as I had that!

I grew up in Suffolk (western) and moved to NYC, Queens and now I'm in Nassau.

I can tell you I don't miss NYC & Queens even a LITTLE. WAYYYYYYY too crowded for me. I love being able to pull into my driveway!

I'd say the area of Nassau I'm in is really comparable to where I grew up and I was perfectly happy in Suffolk and I love Nassau just as much. Plus I love being closer to everything (shopping, train, NYC, etc).

Nope, just the opposite. I grew up in Nassau, moved to Suffolk (Nesconset) for 2 years, then moved back to Nassau after getting married. I loved living in Suffolk and miss it!

Not a chance..I can't stand the congestion of Nassau. I actually get anxiety attacks sometimes when I visit my Mom in Merrick. It seems like it takes a good ten minutes to go six lights up Merrick Avenue some days. Trying to pull out of her driveway is a nightmare.

I would never trade what I have in Suffolk to live in Nassau again. The ONE and ONLY tradeoff is that it's so far from DH's family and my own.

DH grew up in Valley Stream & lived in Nassau & Brooklyn until we were engaged when he was 36. Now we live in Eastern Suffolk & are ready to move further East.
DH HATES driving back into Nassau now, he actually makes a big deal like its the end of the world everytime

Even if we won a mansion in Nassau he'd want to sell it & stay in Suffolk.

I've never lived anywhere but Suffolk & I always think I've missed out on something, but Nassau was never on my list of places to try. I commuted to Massapequa for 11 years & I don't miss the stress of driving out there everyday at all.

I grew up in NHP and now live in the Hamptons...and hell no, i don't miss Nassau..especially when i go visit my parents and see how congested it is now...wasn't so bad growing up. I prefer trees and large lots!

I grew up in Nassau and now live in a suburb of Albany and I miss Nassau when I am away, but hate the traffic when I go to visit.
