Those who get professional Christmas pics...
This is my first time doing pro pictures so I am not sure.
What site do you use for your Christmas cards?
My photographer said sites like Shutterfly etc aren't great for professionally edited pics because they color correct and the pics are already color corrected.
I definitely have had color issues with Shutterfly and the pics I took myself in the past. 2 years ago I had to have them all reprinted because the color was so awful.
She recommended MPIX but they seem very expensive for cards.
Who have you used to make cards with your professional pics? Any quality issues?

Have always been satisfied. Minted does very heavy hardstock if you are into that.

Another vote for Photo Affections. Quality is great. I used them for DD's birth announcements, christening, her first birthday invitations, and last year's holiday cards. Nice thick card stock, sturdy envelopes, quick shipping.

Photo Affections looks awesome and I love some of their styles but they don't offer any folded card options which I find so strange.
I like a traditional folded card so I can write on the inside - I like addressing them and writing a short personal message.
I see I can opt for a 2 sided card- front and back- for a little extra money- and put pics and text on the back, but I feel like nobody will think to turn the card over #1 and #2 I still really can't right on it with no blank space.
So frustrating because i love what they offer and their prices and I hear nothing but good about them, but I really do want a folded card

With most photo places, you can turn off the color correction. I think it's even an option on mpix. I have mostly used shutterfly because of cost, selection, and turn around times. Shutterfly color correction seems to make my DD look orange, but without color correction, my cards come out fine. I usually do the double sided card stock.
Last year, I was really, really late and had to have cards printed in a local store. Do Not use the Walgreens in-store card stock. They're printed on perforated paper that someone at the store tears apart by hand. The edges look awful. The color on all the cards was terrible and not even consistent across the cards. After having a problem at walgreen's, I got the 6x8 photo paper cards same day from Costco. They came out great.

Funny you mention that, my photographer said whatever you do, do NOT use Walgreens.
They must be known for being awful.
I was just thinking that maybe I can note on Shutterfly or wherever that I don't want color correction.

One year my DD had on a red sweater dress. It was real red, Christmas red. It looked fine in the pictures I sent to Shutterfly. The cards came and her dress was GLOWING. It was like the brightest red I had ever seen, almost fluorescent.
The upside is they were very very nice and fixed them for me, had the corrected ones in the mail the next day with overnight shipping and sent me a HANDWRITTEN apology note as well as $50 off for my next order good for a full year.
So their customer service is great.
I am going to see about telling them not to color correct. thanks

It's been a while since I uploaded pics, but I think in Shutterfly you have to turn off color correction in the individual photos, before you add them to a project.

I use etsy. I use a vendor by the name of MilanoInk. LOVEEEEEEEE her work. And quality of cards is top of the line. I haven't had anyone beat her on quality.

On Shutterfly there is an option to not color correct. If you click on "edit pic" it's one of the first options (next to sepia/black&white option).
I used Tiny Prints for my daughters birth announcements with pro pics and had no issues with the coloring.
