Those that used Soothies
What pacifier did you change to and when? DS is 10 weeks and uses the soothies. He;s good with the paci in that he spits it out once he's calm so I'm hoping he only uses a paci for another few months or so - we'll see.

Re: Those that used Soothies
I changed to Avent. I think DS was 3-4 weeks. I had gotten some for my shower and just tried them one day.
After that, DS refused the Soothie.

Re: Those that used Soothies
I tried ALL different ones, bc I hated the soothie! But he kept spitting it out anyway. The one he takes to the best is Nuk. I also wanted to pick one that if he still uses it when he gets older, its not like a new character or something. Its just a plain one that is always around, in every store. Just in case he freaks out if his favorite one gets lost or something. I only posted this bc my mother had such a hard time with my little brothers basketball pacifier. He only loved that one and drove her crazy!

Re: Those that used Soothies
DS was the same as pp.... he spit out EVERY pacifier I tried!! Except for the Avent ones! They were/are the only ones he'd take. The nipple shape on them is straight out like the soothie...alot of the other ones are curved.

Re: Those that used Soothies
DD continues to use the Soothies. She's 15 months and uses the larger one which is the teething one. She used the newborn one until I found her with the entire paci in her mouth sideways. Then I moved her up to the next level Soothie.

Re: Those that used Soothies
DD hardly ever uses it, only when she's really overtired, but Soothies are the only ones she will take. I have tried EVERY other brand and she wants no part of them.

Same here, DD is 16 months and still uses her Soothies to sleep!

Re: Those that used Soothies
DS was somewhere around 6m when we switched him over to the Playtex Binky pacifier. We switched because he was spitting the Soothie out all the time & turning it to chew on it a lot. The Binky pacis have a straight cylindrical nipple similar to the Soothies, not round and bulb-like like most of the others I found. DS didn't even notice that we switched him. HTH

Re: Those that used Soothies
My son loves the Soothies- he;s 3 months old. About 3 weeks ago I decided to switch simply because the Soothies don't stay in very well and he couldn't really keep it in himself. So we switched to Born Free, which he was fine with, but every now and then we'll give him a Soothie if that's the closest one and he definitely prefers it! He can keep it in much better now so I'm thinking of sticking with it because it soothes him much better.

Soothie all the way :)
She didn't like Level 2 or 3.. so we've been using the same level since the hospital.

Re: Those that used Soothies
This is helpful - thanks. I thought we had to switch, I had bought a second pack (we were using the ones from the hospital) and it said 0-3, I thought maybe for orthodontic reasons? But if people are using it still, I'd rather stick with it b/c he likes it.

Re: Those that used Soothies
We eventually changed to the Nuk. It took a few days for DS to really take to it. It was much easier for him to keep it in his mouth.

Re: Those that used Soothies
DD couldn't hold on to soothies or Avent so we're NUK all the way over here but if you don't need to switch, I wouldn't bother.

It's a horrible pacifier for mouth development
