Those that are ttc#2 or more?

How long have you been ttc? Did it take just as long as the first? When should I go see my dr this will be cycle #7 I'm starting to get worriedChat Icon Is this a common problem? I know of a handful of women IRL that it took months to get pregnant after thier first. I am 33 maybe it my age...Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Those that are ttc#2 or more?

This is our first cycle. I am actually hoping it takes less time this go around because I know so much more about my body. I have heard of secondary infertility, where women have problems conceiving their second child.

Not sure if it's age. I was 33 when I conceived my first, and now I am 35. I do know many who are older and had no problems conceiving.

I would talk to your doc. Perhaps because it's your second, you are closer to 35 than you were before, and have been trying for 7 months-- you can do some additional testing. Good luck!

Re: Those that are ttc#2 or more?

For #1, I got pregnant first cycle, but then had a m/c at 8.5 weeks. I had to wait three cycles which was about four months. Once we started trying again my cycles were really long and I conceived on the third cycle. All in all from when we started to conceiving Chat Icon was 9 months.

For #2, we got pregnant on the 4th cycle TTC and then m/c at 8.5 weeks. I was told to wait two cycles this time (natural m/c, no D&C) which took three months. I'm not on the 3rd cycle (4th month) of trying. We're at the 1 year mark for TTC #2 Chat Icon . I started seeing a specialist at the end of my last cycle. This cycle they're just observing. I'm at CD21 and still no positive OPK. I don't think I'm going to O this cycle so I'm disappointed. Hopefully they intervene and help me O next cycle!!

Re: Those that are ttc#2 or more?

DC #1, i got preggo on the first try..it was right before my 35 birthday..didn't chart or anything..was on honeymoon. It just happened.

DC #2, i guess this is my second month trying..although, it's really more like my first month because last month we only bed twice, and because the OPK was inaccurate for me, we bed nowhere near when i was O'ing.

Good luck! And don't worry about your age!!!
I'm 38 and lots of people i know have conceived much later than 33. I wish i was 33!!! You still have plenty of time.

For DC #1 it took 6 months. I am now 40 Chat Icon Chat Icon and we are on our 3rd month. I am hoping and praying it doesn't take as long this time. One of my friends is expecting with #2 and got pg on the first month. Another friend just gave birth to her 3rd at 39. Don't let age scare you.

Re: Those that are ttc#2 or more?

I conceived my DD at 32 with just Metformin and 1 IUI. We started the Met in Sept. and I ovulated in Dec. and got pregnant. One egg - One IUI. Sooooooo easy. I though it would be sooooooo easy TTC #2 given our history but not so.

We started TTC #2 in Sept. 2009. We tried on our own until Dec. with no luck. Went back to RE in Dec. and from Jan. 2010 to Sept. 2010 we got pregnant 3 times (Clomid, Met, and IUI) but miscarried all 3 times. In addition we had about 5 failed IUI's. Needless to say, it was a ROUGH year and not at all what we expected to have to deal with. Chat Icon

Who knew getting pregnant again would be sooooooo hard????? (And now I am getting nervous because I will be 36 in March!!)

Re: Those that are ttc#2 or more?

I just had my 3rd and she took 8 months to conceive with perfect timing, etc. I conceived her at 32 and had her after I turned 33. With my 2 boys I got PG right away. They are 7 and 4. Chat Icon I honestly don't know why it took so long? I'm thinking age has a part in it? The month I found out, I gave up since I had absolutely no symptoms. I was temping though and realized that I was 12dpo and my temp didn't drop yet which it always would have. I took a test after work and it came up +. Chat Icon Don't give up yet, it will happen! Re: Those that are ttc#2 or more?

We've just started...With DD I got a bfp the 2nd cycle off of bcp. THis time around, I stopped bcp in September/October and we just started trying in earnest this cycle..

I do know that the experience varied in my close friends/family...My BFF tried for 6 months to get pregnant with her DD, she's on #2 now and got her BFP the second cycle they tried. My cousin took about 7 months the first time and 3 months the second time...My other cousin got pregnant with her DS on their 2nd month, and is now pregnant with #2....which took her 1 1/2 years....

With DS I got pg on the second month.

This time we are on month 10. I am 33 as well. I just recently started seeing an RE. I will get the results from all the bloodwork and testing next week. I am very curios to see if something is wrong or it is just taking a very long time!

I am TTC for #2 and I am also 33. I am at the same time frame cycle 6 when I was TTC with my first. I did get pregnant with DD on cycle 7. I did become pregnant again when DD was 11months and it ended with a M/C and I got preggo on the first try but we weren't actively trying.
