This takes the cake! Christmas related!
OK I think I may have won with this one.
Yesterday, DH was taking a walk with DD, she was riding her bike, he was walking with her. They came across a house with the front door open and DD yelled out- "Look Daddy! A Christmas tree. Already?"
He said he looked and just inside the front door was the living room and there was a full decorated and lit Christmas tree. On Sept 23rd
I don't think anyone can beat that. Anyone.

Hmm. Maybe. DH isn't hip to these things. But is a Halloween tree a christmas like tree like that? Like looks like a Christmas tree but with Halloween stuff on it? That seems a little strange to be honest

That's insanity. It was 80 degrees out yesterday and literally like the first day of fall! Way too early for that.

If that is the case, that is even worse than putting up your tree in September!!! Good God.

Re: This takes the cake! Christmas related!
My sister went to high school with a girl - they were on kickline together and one time after practice or a game everyone went back to this girl's house... My sister went upstairs to use the bathroom and the mother was in one of the bedrooms which was decorated floor-to-ceiling Christmas. Like a Christmas gift shop Since it was like, late September - early October my sister was like oh, early? And the mother goes, I'm just moving things around -- this room is here all year long. It's our Christmas room. We don't need all four bedrooms so this room is always decorated for Christmas and when that time of year comes we just open the door! Then, in January we close the door! I'm just getting ready for this year by adding and moving around a few things!
The way the mother said it was like it was the greatest idea, like voila!!! And how come everyone doesn't do this?? They all must be so stupid to not have thought of this like we did!!
My sister came home that night like speechless and told us all about it - I will never forget the Christmas bedroom that is decorated all year long and one just needs to open the door! Voila!

Lol this is funny! I was walking last May and saw a family had their Christmas tree up!!! Maybe it was them!
But not to be a total "Debbie Downer," I have heard of a family (friends of friends of friends) who began Christmas celebrations early one year because they had a terminally ill relative...

It's funny because I always find that putting up and taking down the tree is such a HUGE pain in the A and I always say - I wish we could just put it in a room somewhere- when Christmas is over- fully decorated and assembled - and then just pull it out next year and not have to go through the hassle of decorating and undecorating for just a few weeks!
I guess this women took that to the next extreme!

Re: This takes the cake! Christmas related!
Yes! I do wish I had a nice, climate controlled attic that I could put it away in, but I actually like putting the ornaments on -- but putting the tree together, fluffing it, etc. is a pain!! ...and thank God now it's prelit. But yeah that part!

I was thinking this too. Or for someone who is being deployed in the military - something along those lines. Otherwise I would think it was a Halloween tree (not that I ever heard of that before, but it makes more sense than putting up a Christmas tree now!)

My neighbors never took their tree down from last year! It's been sitting in the front window fully decorated (I can see candy canes and tinsel on it from the front yard) but it's never lit. DH always told me it was up but I thought he was mistaken until we were all standing on their front lawn talking and it caught my eye...I couldn't stop staring at it !

Yeah, the halloween tree looks like a Christmas tree except sometimes it's black/white instead of green and it has all different decorations in it. LOL.

Maybe they are diabetic.
Yes it could be a solider or a terminally ill child, but I would put money on the fact that's it's someone who just wants to rush the season.

i'm going to stick my head out and defend these people
now that i'm becoming more and more sensitive to those with loved ones in the military...
might it be that a loved one is being deployed soon and won't be able to celebrate with the family OR might that loved one just gotten back and they are celebrating the holiday that was missed???
i'm tryin' over here!

Re: This takes the cake! Christmas related!
I will admit I do have a 3 foot tree with just white lights on in an open area in a corner. It is not decorated. I feel like it is more ambiance lighting then a christmas tree.
