This question recently came up....
...my sister and her kids are here for the holidays. My ex had our daughters and my nieces to his house for a sleepover. My nieces asked "what should we call him?"...I told them that he is their cousins father so that makes him their uncle whether we are married or not so they should call him Uncle Sal..I said this without really putting much thought into it.
Anyone???

I am pretty sure they should still call him Uncle. My aunt has been divorced for at least 20 years and I still call my uncle Uncle Joe.

As long as everyone involved is okay with it, then they should call him uncle.

If you are all still friendly like it seems, I would still do Uncle. My "Ex-Aunt" will always be my Aunt. My uncle has married 2x since then and nobody will ever replace that aunt of mine.

Re: This question recently came up....
Definitely Uncle...two of my Uncles have divorced and I call both their Ex-wives Aunt.
Now, when they remarried I pretty much cannot call their second wives Aunt and my sisters think I'm wrong.

I think you did the right thing. I think techically he's an ex-uncle, I think it's the gracious thing to do.

As a person who has Step parents, Step In Laws as well and Half relations…
Uncle is fine.
I call my husband’s step father’s sister, “Aunt” or by her first name, but for kids, an uncle is an uncle. I don’t think you loose blood relations due to divorce (although there are days I wish we did)
