This is why you DON'T take advice from a 5 year old.
My MIL is in town for the week. She kept Joseph home yesterday from school. He wanted to go for a bike ride. The garage door was partially opened. She didnt' know where the remote control was so he told her to crawl under. They both crawl under. It's pitch black. She asks where is the light switch. He told her to pull the cord in the center of the garage & maybe that would turn on a light. She listened. The door shut leaving them in pitch black.
In only took her a minute to find a light switch & open the door, but not exactly a good idea. The manual part of the garage door is now broken but the opener will work. We can tease her about it now. I'm just glad they weren't baking in the garage all day yesterday. When I asked him what happened he said "You know a lot of times a string in the middle of a room turns on a light."
Today he told her that he & Maddie didn't need baths. They didn't have them.
Tomorrow they're going to the Children's Museum with my mom. I said "Mom could you babysit my MIL tomorrow? We need an adult since a 5 year old is running the show."

my mil came over to my BBQ the other day and tried to give Spencer an onion ring!!!!! she said that DH was drinking whole milk by the time he was 4 months and thought we should give it to spencer!

Last time I took advice from a small child, I wound up spending $200 on a diaper bag!!! Bless them!
