This BF momma is having her first mommy's day out...help me not feel guilty

So I have a long planned trip to the wineries tomorrow with family & friends!!! I have 3 pumped bottles for DH to give DD. I know that won't be enough since I don't plan on nursing her again until probably Sunday morning/afternoon (make sure the wine is out of my system completely) so she will have to have some formula bottles in there as well. Somehow I am feeling guilty about this. I know it is RIDICULOUS. I am allowed a day off and I think I definitely deserve it after 4.5 months of EBFing, but I can't shake this feeling. I don't plan on getting "wasted" but I do want to have a few glasses of wine and enjoy the day.

Any other BFing momma's ever have this weird guilt?

There is nothing to feel guilty about! Enjoy the wineries!! Chat Icon

Also, just an FYI, I think if you are sober enough to drive, you are sober enough to BF, so you may not have to wait as long as you think. Either way, have fun!!

YES! Julianna is 8 weeks old and two weeks ago My DH and I had to go to a wedding, so I pumped 2 bottles and she stayed w/my mom. The whole time at the wedding I was thinking "geez, she is gonna get used to bottles... is she gonna take the bottle?... what about if she is still hungry?!" Needless to say I barely enjoyed the wedding... but DONT dont do this to yourself!! I think it was b/c it was my 1st time leaving her, but we all have to get used to it for our own sanity!!

Totally agree! Do you have any freezer stash to avoid giving the formula? Or can you pump between now and then to make another few bottles??
