3 doses. I see it on the CDC's schedule. It dawned on me that AJ no longer fits infants and children. So I looked at the pre-teen and teen schedule.

I really want to say no at this moment.

How about you?

ETA: I should add I had cervical cancer caused by HPV and still want to say no.

Ekk this one is a toughy. All I can say is talk to a few doctors and try to understand the facts and risks. I was researching this a while back and there seems to be great arguments for vaccination and against vaccination. But what was lacking was any real substantial medical evidence one way or another to help analyze the benefits and risks. Most benefits were outlined in marketing materials rather than empirical scientific sources and most arguments against I could not validate the credibility of the source... Maybe it has since changed (hopefully!). It's a tough one and very personal choice. I feel like our access to information has grown so much but the information out there is practically worthless. I would talk with a few doctors to try to get as many facts as possible and look at your family history and your daughters personal risk levels albeit, tough to tell at 11. That's what helped me make my decision.

My rule of thumb in life is "when in doubt, leave it out." So I did not get the vaccination. But I was at a different stage in life (much older). Not sure what I would do if I had a young daughter, hoping by that time the data is better.

Yes.

Cervical cancer can get ugly.
I know too many people who had it.

Yes, I just told my step-mother to make sure my 16 year old sister was vaccinated. Her pediatrician (who I don't like to begin with) was hesitant about it. I said get her in to see a family practitioner from now on, get her in to see a gyno, and get her that vaccine!!!!

When I say I want to say no.. I mean that because some stupid governor here tried to make it MANDATORY to go to school. Then girls started getting sick and it got nasty so they pulled it. Seeing it on CDC makes me feel uncomfortable. My coworker's daughter took two doses and ended up with seizures and is in the Mayo clinic once a year. Her mother (my ex coworker) has fought a nasty battle with the state and pharm company over it.

HPV can be dangerous
HPV can cause cancer
HPV can also be in just about anybody all the time and you'll never know
HPV has so many strains - its huge
HPV vaccine doesn't protect against all strains
My daughter at the age of 11 & 12 shouldn't be thinking of sex, but yes I get the vaccine would carry forward. However, she can also play catch up on her own at an older age if she chooses to.

HPV is something you can catch early, treat and be cured from. My other friend is had her cervix removed last week because she skipped her yearly appts and the cancer progressed too far. Thankfully she's done with kids so this wasn't a hard choice but still a scary one for her. She hemorrhaged a bit but they got it under control. Easily avoidable if she'd gone every year.

I was clear every year until I wasn't. Biopsy confirmed it, small out patient surgical procedure removed a part of my cervix. I caught it early and took care of it. Was under watch for a very long time afterwards (followed me to NY) but finally got cleared years later.

This is one of those things where I wonder if we causing more issues trying to eradicate everything and anything and then wonder why we have so many cancers to begin with.

No. This one I am worried about MS. It is off the market in Europe because of too many negative side effects. So neither of my kids will get this vaccine.

Yes. HPV is super prevalent. They say 1 in 3 women have it but I suspect its higher than that. I was diagnosed with it when I was young and it was treated and I haven't had it since. No harm, no foul, right? Wrong. The treatment I had damaged my cervix so that I have high risk pregnancies. If I can prevent my little girl from having to endure that, I will.

No. I work in a doctors office and the doctor won't use this vaccine on his own children because of lack of long term studies and I watched a girl have a seizure after getting it and she's been getting them since.. never had one before.

If I had to give it here and now-No I wouldn't give it. If studies look ok in 10 years then maybe.

I had it when it first came out as an adult just before the cutoff. I never had any problems resulting from it. Would I give my DD? No, I've just heard too many bad things years after I did it. I do not think it's necessary for my child.

Nope. Not enough studies done on the vaccine. Many drs I know won't give it to their daughter's so I'm following their lead.

No way. I saw a show about a girl from England and what it did to her. And then just last year with all the girls in upstate NY and in Colombia who got sick and everyone tried to say it was "mass hysteria". Also look how many countries have made it illegal and removed from their vax schedule.

Not a chance in hell.

My OB gave it to her 3 daughters. All 3 had major complications and as early teens are ALL infertile. She is suing the manufacturer and they no longer give it at the office. She joined a support group and is finding out this isn't some fluke. The numbers are staggering. Like for real staggering the number of infertile teens there are because of this.

Nope, I know two women whose daughters (unrelated to each other) had seizure issues. Both daughters had this as a possible (not confirmed) contributing factor.

Wow I had no idea it's being marketed for boys as well. Defibitely a no for my son as well!
