Things you see on Facebook.....
Lately I have been seeing these more often.
Sometimes it's hard to hide stupidity on social media.
Today's gem was from someone i used to work with.
He posted an article about a bus crash in Queens this morning. The headline in BIG letters said:
3 Killed and More than a Dozen Injured in Bus Crash in Queens.
He shares the article and writes- I hope nobody was hurt.
  
I'm waiting for someone to point out the article's title. It won't be me, but I know SOMEBODY will eventually....

I saw another bad one right before Irma hit Florida.
One of the LI Meteorologists I follow on FB posted a potential model for Miami with some predicted wind gusts. He specifically wrote- One model for Miami - this would be very bad.
And it showed wind gusts of up to 140 mph for Miami in this model.
The map was clearly of the Florida area. He stated something like- Miami could see winds of 150 mph (or something like that) if this scenario plays out.
Someone commented- is this for Long Island?
I wanted to scream

I love all the people panicking right now bc of the fake report that Reeses peanut butter cups are being discontinued. First of all, I think we'd all survive. Second, how about you take two seconds to Google before you have a total meltdown.

That's funny. I read that and while I wasn't hyperventilating or forwarding the link to all my friends so we could buy out the store, I was bummed. Glad to know it was false!!!

I haven't seen that, but I'd pretty much panic if Reese's peanut butter cups were discontinued. I now need to hit up my late night stash of cups...
It's the one thing I always stock up on when I go home for visits as there is no such thing as peanut butter and chocolate here...
I'm lucky if I can even find PB here

Has anyone gotten any of those FB messages that say " don't accept a friend request from ______ because they are a hacker and will steal all your info...blah blah blah Make sure you share this with all of your friends to warn them!" Every couple weeks or so I get a forward like that from the same 3 people, all of an older generation, and all apparently very gullible.

I made the inside of a Reese's once accidentally lol
Peanut butter, confectionary sugar and melted butter
That's it. I ate so much of it, I actually felt ill. But it was soooooooo good

I thought the same, and I even went back to see exactly when he shared it. But he had JUST shared it. It said- 2 minutes ago or something.
I doubt it was updated in the 2 minutes since he shared it.
I just think people don't read. They share stuff without even reading it.

SO much of what I see on FB makes me realize just how stupid, ignorant, and hateful people are. It is astounding.
The thing that frustrates me the most is the way people just share and re-post these stupid memes, edited video clips, and random "facts" without taking the time to check if anything they are posting is legitimate or accurate. They just perpetuate the stupidity and make themselves looks foolish and dumb.

I just got a FB message from MIL to not drink Pepsi for a few weeks bc someone who works for them injected his HIV positive blood into it. A 2 second Google search proved it to be false. She constantly sends me these ridiculous messages that do nothing but waste my time
And also always does the middle school chain letter type things too, like "send this picture of Jesus crying to 10 people in 10 seconds or you'll have horrible luck for the rest of your life!!!!!!" How are there functioning adults in this world who actually believe that stuff?

Photos of food where the food looks gross. Not "gross" as in, 'that doesn't appeal to me'..."gross" as in, 'you sure that's not a pan of vomit that you're posting?"
And also lately I've seen a trend of people who are not makeup artists acting as though they are...they all have that over-contoured face, the drawn-on eyebrows and lips lined past their actual lips. And then they hashtag every product they touched. This is more of an Instagram thing but most people share via IG to FB. It's like "hold the fck up, you look like a damn blow-up doll and today isn't Halloween so what's going on here?"

Not to mention I am pretty sure the acid content in Pepsi would kill any virus, HIV or otherwise.
I have heard the HIV virus is very fragile and can't live outside the human body for long, and pepsi can take the paint off your car so.....
