They've Decided to Induce Me if...
My doctor told me they've agreed to induce me if she doesn't come out on her own.
They said they would do it May 4th (I'm due May 8th) to try and let me have her vaginally since she is so big.
I am already dialating and effaced (2cm and 80% as of last Wed.)...so I guess that's why they have agreed to give her a little help coming out.
May 4th is 13 days away! 
Anyone here been induced? How was it? What was the procedure?
Just so you all know, I really am trying to avoid having a c-section, so that's why I would opt for induction if she isn't here by May 4th.

I went into labor on my own, but when I got the hospital they decided to give me pitocin bc I wasn't dialating after 5cm. They had to stop the pitocin bc it was causing erractic heartbeats on Nate. They ended up breaking my water to put an internal monitor on his head. Once they broke my water, I didn't need the pitocin anymore and progressed on my own with an epi, of course.
I read "A Thinking Woman's Guide to a Better Birth" to help me feel more comfortable with the various pros/cons of procedures and medications/drugs that a woman might come across while in labor. It was really informative.

I was induced and I had a great experience - I can't wait to do it again and she is only 8 weeks!
The best thing for me was - when you check into the hosiptal you are already in their care - so if you have any questions, pain, discomfort - you will be attended too quickly.

I was induced with both my pregnancies and loved it.. I already told my doc I wanna be induced again if I dont go by my EDD and I was ready..
I was able to shower, shave..go food shopping and prepare the house..I didnt feel panicked or rushed going to the hospital...
One time they broke my water and gave me pitocin ( had baby within 4 hours)
and one time I went in, in the evening and they gave me some cervidil ( swabbed it on my cervix) and within hours that threw me into labor and had my son within 5 hours.
Both experiences were wonderful

I was induced and it took 3 days for me to have the baby...it was a long and slow (and often painful) process. My advice would be to get your epidural early because you can go from nothing to MAJOR labor really quickly and it can be quite shocking!!!
But its nice to know when its happening, nice to be able to leave the house in a calm manner. So good luck with it!!!

You're so lucky!! I'm due April 28th, and the doc said he won't even consider inducing me until I'm about 10 days late. The baby was already 8lbs 3ozs on the 17th (with 11 days to go til due date, 21 til he will consider an induction)! Maybe your doc is considering it because you are starting things on your own. For me, nothing is happening yet. 
I hope your baby comes quickly and easily for you whether it is on your own or via induction.

I highly rec'd A Thinking Women's Guide to a Better Birth.
if you are trying to avoid a c/s, you may want to consider various things with induction. With most inductions they don't allow you off the bed which can hurt the progress of labor. You may want to discuss various options with your OBs. There are things you can do, naturally, to help bring on labor.
