Thermometer Question

This was our first month TTC and I just got AF today (2 days early). :(

We didn't use OPK's and I didn't take my temp or anything this past month. So I was thinking that now I would try taking my temp but I was just wondering how that worked? I take my temp every morning and it will change on the day I ovulate??? Also if there a particular brand or type of thermometer I should use?

You need a Basal Thermometer. I bought the one from CVS. It beeps when it is done. It takes a while to beep but it works.

You take your temp the SAME time every morning. I would use either FF or mmc to chart your temps and then once you ovulate, your temp rises. It needs to rise three consecutive days to verify ovulation.

Also, when you take it the same time in the morning you have to still be in bed, for example you cant go to the bathroom then take your temp becuase just by walking to the bathrrom your temp can change slightly. I have my thermometor on my night stand and when my alarm goes off i just take it and I have a note pad and write it on there.

Also the rise of temp detects that you already ovulated, the point of temping is to see what day you actually "O" so you have an idea for the following cycles.
