The problem with losing weight...
Is that I can't wear any of my favorite clothes anymore - took me YEARS to find the perfect pants that I love, and now they are too big All of my fall/winter jackets are gigantic and many of my skirts fall down now.
What is a girl to do? Is it even worth it to have almost my entire wardrobe altered? Or bite the bullet and shop for an entirely new wardrobe? What do you do?

get you fav pair altered and then go shopping :) It is the best feeling slipping on a pair of new pants and buttoning them without having to use any tricks.

Unless your wardrobe has pieces worth $100+, I would not alter.
Pants are hard to alter on 1 size bigger. It's not just the waist but the tush area and outside hips area.
And it never really looks as great when altered.
And if you look a full size, it's hard to alter.

Yeah, but we just bought a house! I don't feel right about spending oodles on a new wardrobe! Even my winter jackets look like a total joke on me...

Pants probably can't be tailored that well unless they're only a little big. Skirts and jackets can, though. Take the ones you love to get tailored, then get some basics to get you through the season!

Re: The problem with losing weight...
Shop at inexpensive stores and piece some outfits together. I am constantly buying new clothes but I get them at Old Navy, Kohl's, Target, etc. I get by with a few pairs of pants and tops. Change it up by wearing different shirts with different pants. Don't just stick with the same outfit. This way people won't think it's the same clothes all the time.
My favorite store is ann taylor. But I refuse to spend the money there right now because I am constantly dropping down in sizes. Unless I find a crazy sale. My other advice is don't look to replace all at once. Pick up one thing here and there. This way it's not all on your at once.
