Lauren
What other name/nickname would you think for this one? I'm not sure because my sister's name is Laura. I almost feel like I would be naming her after my sister. Is it me or what?

Re: The name Lauren

My sister's name is Lauren and no one has ever called her anything different except for my cousin's g/f who calls her LaLa but that's because her nickname is MoMo.

Re: The name Lauren

To me, Lauren and Laura are too close. My step sister is a Laura, so I didn't even consider Lauren. However, you can also spell it Loren, and that I find to be "different" enough. Don't ask me why, though, I can't explain it.

The only nickname I know for any Lauren or Laura is Lor. You could also do Wrenn, which is a very pretty name, as a nickname, maybe.

Re: The name Lauren

You could have the nickname Ren.

But Lauren is usually just Lauren. A great name for no nicknames.

ETA: and no, I do not think Lauren and Laura are too close. They are different names that each stand on their own.

The name Lauren

I am a Lauren!!!!!! My only nickname growing up was Lau. And plenty of people called me that, as do some of my current friends. My last initial is T so some people now call me LT. At my last job I had a ton of people call me this - one guy started it and it stuck.

I think Laura and Lauren are soooooooo different but probably only because I am a Lauren. I have a friend Laura and never think of her name as being similar to mine.

I think when it's spelled Loren that is the masculine version, i know a guy named Loren.

I don't think of Lauren and Laura being the same.

Re: The name Lauren

Absolutely love the name Lauren. Growing up I always wished that was my name LOL. I work with a lauren we all call her Lauren no one calls her by a nickname. And like the pp said I think Laura and Lauren are totally different names.

My DD is a Lauren. I sometimes call her Laur-Laur (lor-lor) or Laurs (lors). but 99% of the time she is just Lauren.

Re: The name Lauren

To me they are the same name or very similar. For example, if I were naming someone after someone named "Laura" and opted for "Lauren" it would make sense.

They have the same sound overall.

Also, Lori is a nickname I associate with Laura/Lauren...

Maybe I'm thinking of Lorin? I checked on fb and I have two friends name Lorin and they're both girls. I think the boy version is Lorenzo or something lol.

DH's cousin's name is Kristina and named her daughter Cristina -- if you love a name, use it. I wouldn't worry about any of these things! Chat Icon (Well, I probably would worry about them, but don't worry about them.)

Re: The name Lauren

I think they're very similar, but we have some of that in my family. We have and Elissa and a Melissa and an Eric and an Erika. My mother shares her middle name with two of her cousins lol.

I like Lauren, but I can't think of another nickname besides Laurie.
