The local news
The more I watch/read the local news the more disgusted I am. There are literally stories that leave me sick to my stomach. Every so often there is a heart warming story, it they're rare. I wish there was a website or local news show with just those stories.
Anyone else feel like this?

I've been saying this forever.
Even if there is nothing negative to report for once, they will rehash old stuff.
I just turned on the news and the headlines are the funeral of the child who was thrown off the building, and some "final report" about Sandy Hook.

 I've always wondered why 95% of the time, "news", is only "bad" news? I'm sure that there are wonderful, beautiful things that happen too. How come those stories aren't plastered all over the t.v.?

I see what you are saying, but I also think there are more news outlets than ever (internet, etc.), so we just see more than we did before. I also think the news could concentrate on more of what is going on around the world and not just in the country or locally.

The local news
The news organizations decided what is news and what to report.
The news decides what the news is for the day. You also notice that the fluffy good stories are later in the broadcast to keep you watching.
But "news" today is NOT news. Its what THEY decide the news will be for the day. Not ACTUAL news.

The local news
On top of the reports, I read the comments on the Newsday website. As much as I hate to torture myself, I always skim it over. It sickens me the awful things people say. Makes me realize how many bigots live among us.
